Your work is great... love what you have done and kept your force themed well.

Only suggestion I could make is make the sides of your bases a darker brown. In several of the shots it takes away from the figures as you can clearly see different brush strokes, and a nice thick dark chocolate type color would make them really look great. That said, well done man.

@GamesPoet
Thanks for your comments. The mortar 1 is a 5th edition mortar that come without a frame with wheels. I will try to get a shot of the swordsmen with the shield on his back to show you he is carrying.
The ogres are rackham minis that I grabbed before they discontinued them. They are really good cast. I will take a unit shot later on as well.

@Alexious
Thanks for your comment. Very good suggestion for a darker edge. After doing the movement trays, I will see how it looks and eventually do an army touch-up on all the bases (that might be not so fun)

Hi there,

1st of all the shots some of you asked for, the rank unit of Arabian ogres

and the gobbo-slayer, member of my swordmen

And some new stuff.

I introduce to you the lion company, this regiment of Altdorf spearmen acquired this name when they left for the crusades in Araby. They came back with wealth and the company icon and warcry: "Hear us roar" (that I might add later on on the banner). Since then they took a fancy to put on fancy helmet and the yellow sleeve, the lion coulour!

My huntsmen leaded by Frida, the maiden of the wood. Some say that she has elf blood in her veins. The only sure thing is that she can shoot better than any other man of the band!

Dietrich, captain of the empire

Some of you might remember Tyrus Gorman, here he comes

The very beginning of my war altar with only the rider for now

And Friedrich, my entry for the painting competition of this month (I am quite happy how he turned out)

Nice job and very striking regiments, they certainly stick out on the table with all that yellow!

Also very good job on the WP entry, though I feel the Hammerhead is a bit out of sync with the rest of the model.
And I would enter the WP for your war Altar also!! Very good model! (3 entries max ;) )

Shame on me for not posting since such a long time.
1st of all, thanks for the comment. I agree the hammer doesn't look quite in sync with the model, not enough yellow I believe, I need to touch-up this later on.

Let's start with my BSB on foot. I was looking for a good model to represent him and I end-up buying a box of greatswords. Here the result (my freehand is still not very good, couldn't manage to draw a proper hammer...)

A few pieces of artillery I painted a few years ago (kudos to Jacques, a friend of mine that converted the mortar crew!):

My Captasus (the banner is a failure but I don't have any design in mind except the usual twin-tailed comet, any ideas?)

The rest in the next post

After the surprise exchange, I was able to refresh my halberds blocks to include the wonderful surprise I received (man-eaters and captain), perform a head-swap for my uni-pose models and rework on highlights/washes/bases.

The horde 1st

And the block of 25 (I have 7 more troops I still need to "refresh")

As a bonus, here is the almighty Karl Franz, an old paint job I touched-up a bit when I re-did the base lately. The Banner is printed and temporary until I manage to improve my freehand skills.

Next post will be some knights....

Ok, last post of the day.

I start with some failed attempts.
I tried wet blending for this life wizard ... obviously I need to practise more...

Then Valten face turn-up like that after 2 attempts ... I gave up for now and moved-on ... I will came back to you later Valten

Earlier I have been showing some conversions for hunters of Sigmar. Starting to paint them, I faced some issues as the hunters are mostly metallic colours with lot of brown and gore and I have been using the Bretonians horses... So I decided to change the background of my order an I was looking for a new scheme. That's when I saw for the 1st time TVI army and that's it, I had to do something similar.

So here is the grand order of the Sigmar's fist (my attempt of freehand for a steel fist is quite inconsistent as you see):

I had a lot of fun doing these guys and can't wait to see them perform on the battlefield.

Last update, a blast from the past, the tiny stank!

Please share your comments, I might not redo most of the things but sometime I do and I like to hear from you to improve my next batch.

Merry Christmas to all

A lot of figs here, nicely painted :::cheers:::
My favourite would be KF on Deathclaw.... You might work more on the stank, reds and blues and yellows are a bit muddy right now. I would also accentuaTE the bolts and edges with more washes.

I lift my hat to you sir.
Your models are brilliant. They really capture what warhammer is to me.
I am extra fond of the bretonnia horses. It woult be so cool to do a knights templar themed unit with that cream/white paintjob

Hi fellows,

Let me tell you the story of the Honour guard of the royal court
The protection of the Emperor during battle has been entitled to the Reiksguard for generation and they have participate to numerous battle and no the echoes of their deeds is heard all around the Empire. Let me tell you the story of a lesser order defending our Emperor.

A few years ago, the count of Beekenstadt, residing a the imperial court was requested to enlist his third son in the Reiksguard to protect the empire. His son behind a weakling and coward was deem to a very short life in the elite of Empire so the count of Beekenstadt used gold and influence to promote a new order of Elite soldier, the the Honour guard of the royal court.

Their duty is to protect the Emperor when he is administering man from his throne at the court. The honour guards become rapidly very famous as as a good career for sons of influential noble, merchants.
The honour guards were living an happy life of boring court session, long night in the tavern and fancy uniforms ... until Bernd von Kraptau.

Bernd's father has been trying to control the spirit for warfare since his childhood to no avail. His last hope was to trick Bernd with a position within the Honour guards. The consequences of this little trick were quite unexpected as Bernd was promoted commander of the Honour guards in a few months being the only capable man around ; not smelling alcohol during inspections was helping a lot to identify such a man.

In less than a year, Bernd transformed the Honour guards. Intensive training and drills and Bernd's example rose the spirit of some of the guards and even attracted other young nobles in seek for glory.

Bernd as requested to the Emperor himself the right to join the battle to protect the Empire which Karl Franz was more than oblige to give (being more used to reject complex excuses to not be submitted to levy).

So here I present to you Bernd's and his finest recruits ready for battle. Their numbers are small but their glorious deeds will for sure attract more recruits in the near future.

Thanks a lot for the comment guys,

I change my method to do the yellow using yellow dark sun over my white undercoat. That's why you can see a darker and a brighter yellow. Not sure which one I like the most. I figure out it will bring a bit of variety to the lot and I like experiencing.

Hi guys,

It's been a while I didn't post because I have been working mostly on my dark elves. I have been lately painting some free company that I will post later on. I just started a campaign and I need a army shot to introduce myself so I thought of sharing the shoots here as well. Here they are:

I hope sometine soon I will be able to add some nice pieces of terrain to it!

Cheers

Well done  :eusa_clap: I really like your Thyrus Gorman, I've been going back and forth on whether I should order one from ebay. I really love the model, and after seeing your great paint job I think I'm definitely getting one.  :::cheers:::

Thanks Arselus,

I really like this old model and it was a joy to paint. The proportion are a bit off but that's what make this old minis so cool. I don't know if you can still get this guy on the GW website.

Incredible an update.

I have been painting a fair bit lately but not only empire so I have only a few update to share.

The good news is I got hold of my remaining stock of minis and brought them here in Malaysia where I stay now. So I have been cleaning up, rebasing and highlighting a lot of old models.

1st my Kislev archers on horse which I use as pistoliers.

Not the best paint job ever but I have so much to paint.

Next my knights panther (the musician is in progress). I like the paintjob I did long time ago so I almost didnt change anything on these guys. So much characters in these knights, they are great!

What do you guys think?

Still posting some old school models rebased and slightly repainted

Here goes the white wolves:

not a big fan of these models because of the proportion. The other classic knights models (panthers, blazing sun...) look good with the helmet though.

Comments appreciated

My reiksguards that I use as great swords, I love those guys, they look great and mean and pack a punch during the fights. I have always been very lucky with them too.

May be some day I will have the time and cash to expend them to an horde!

As a bonus, here is a detachment of free company and some BSP dwarf crewmen converted to fit my army.

Last post for today with converted war altar of sigmar. Nothing grand since I am not a very good modeler but I still like how it turned out:

The top part can be removed for transport.

I like the War Wagon/War Alter. Very striking colour scheme that pays homage to the original GW War Wagon scheme.

I have to agree with the old metal knights as well. I will undoubtedly have to track down at least 10 each of the Knight Panther, Knights of the Blazing Sun and probably the White Wolves as well. Awesome models  :biggriin:
