GW Events Surrounding 8th Editon Release?
« on: June 14, 2010, 03:09:58 PM »
I've seen it being advertised that GW is sponsoring some in store events during the weekend that 8th edition is being released in July.

So far seen ... a mega-battle starting on 7/9 in the evening and going to midnight with the first three turns being played with 7th edition, followed by the last three turns using 8th, starting at midnight.  Then on 7/10, there will be Buy and Build as much as you can for 4 hours and whomever does the most and the best looking wins up to $50 of plastic sets.  And following this there will be a 500point tournament with the same prize as the Buy and Build.

Anyone else seen this or other things, too?

I fail to see how that's *not* going to cause confusion and tears.

I'm not thrilled with the 7/9 into 7/10.  If I'm going to be past my bedtime, I can think of better things to be doing then a mega-battle at that hour.

Not that I don't enjoy mega battles, just not at midnight.

I must be getting old. :icon_lol:

Your not the only one who thinks about that.

But a Mega battle to show and explain new rules, that must be difficult.

Yep, don't fully understand it.

The rules can be accessed as of today, but won't be available for sale until midnight.

Plus ... what about army comp?  Maybe this won't be needed, and just the rest of the rules will be used, I suppose.
