How would empire combat stacking Gut Magic?

If you are intested...

Take a look at this thread

http://www.ogrestronghold.com/forum/index.php?topic=16440.0

It seems that Gut Magic has become very powerful.

I know with our Dispel dice advantage we might live to see another day.  If our extra power dice generation were to be changed those Orges would really put some ruffles in our puffy sleaves.

What do you Generals think of this?

I didn't get the point of that thread, seemed like a rules discussion. Can you summarise?

Yea it was confusing. Sounds like they are trying to rules lawer. Saying that gut magic somehow doesnt use remains in play rules?
Odo drops the bombs and laughs at all the clucking.

......, it would really help if you did research before spouting your opinion...

Cannon the butchers, use Priests, AL and RoP to get good magic defense.
I don't care about the rules.

Pass the machete.

Does not seem to bad.

Their conclusion that the RAW rules read that GUT magic no longer follows the restrictions of RiP-spells, as such they are allowed to stack buffing gut magic seems fair enough.

I got to say that I agree with thenick18 Though.
I do not really think it was GW's intent to make the Gut-magic spells stackable buffs.

But If I face an opponent that argues the point I will let him play it as stackable.
With the amount of dispel dice Empire gets I am not really worried, more worried about the Irresistible force cast hit everything spell combos everyone is talking about ^^.

There is mention of an opponent that was so dishearthed about the rule that he lost all enjoyment of the game though, seems a bit excessive to me, but my knowledge of the other races in warhammer is limited, so i might very well be that hopeless for some races.

Doesn't the Ogre AB specificly say that Gut Magic doesn't stack?

In that case it's the good 'ol AB trumps BRB.

What they removed from the ogre book was that units could have more than one spell cast on them at a time.  Previously, they could only have a single buff on a unit at any given time, regardless of which buff that was.

Ogre players who assume their spells aren't remain in play are missing the part where they say that people attempting to dispel thier spells in later rounds do so at a higher casting level.  Anything else is rule lawyering.  They follow all of the rules for any other buff spell in the game.  The removal of the 5th paragraph only allowed multiple buffs on a single unit.
