By popular demand, W-E is organising a monthly painting competition, with a different subject for every month.
Deadline is always the last day of the month at midnight(GMT+1).
Entries will be judged by a panel of specialists, mainly to allow participants to show WIP on the regular forums. If the panel cannot reach a decision, a public vote will be organised, using the panels' shortlist. The results of every competition will be made public at the very latest at the end of the month following its deadline.

Themes for 2011 :

March : State trooper (due March 31st)
April : Engineer
May : Knight (of knightly order)
June : Warrior Priest
July : Imperial citizen (this is actually a free for all thing, since every soldier is a citizen)
August : Command group.
September : Imperial Large target (Steamtanks and War Altars)
October : Free company (5 figures)
November : Army standard bearer
December : Imperial General

The categories not included in this list (eg wizard...) will get their turn next year.

Entries can be made by replying in this thread. Maximum of 3 entries per forum member(Sorry Steveb).

NO OTHER REPLIES HERE PLEASE, or I disqualify you !

Good luck and happy painting to all !

I wasn't actually planning to enter this guy but timne is getting short and he was painted after the competition was announced so he definitely qualifies! I might enter another if I get time to finish one.

Due to being drowned in work and football practices, I only had time for one entry this month.
You might mistake this veteran halberdier for a Stirland River patrolman, but he is actually a Reiklander. The Grey Lady pass in the south is guarded by many fortresses, and the troops from Highfire Tower wears distinctive orange details. I might make a complete unit of them if I get more models. This is a 1986-1990 something metal model, a real classic! So far Ive collected about 10 of them.

Hobbits are stupid, Talabecs are thieves and Averlanders reek of horse shit.

I highly doubt I'll win (ever) but I'm mostly using this contest as a means of motivation so it isn't like it matters. Here's my two entrees.

Entry 1

Entry 2

Looking forward to next month. Already starting on my engineer so hopefully it'll be better than these guys.
Much like Communism, a level three wizard is a waste of everyone's time and will, in due course, fail miserably.

Results for the competition :

The first three actually had equal points from our panel of judges (an excellent converter, gifted fluff writer, professional and accredited painter and an average gamer). So now it is up to the forum to decide.
