Glad you liked it!!
I left the base empty for you to fiddle with! :)

I got most inspiration for the choice of the model due to your Minotaur you painted. And the fact that I didn't see alot of the Beastmen around so figured this choice would be a save one :)

Yes, indeed! Next run! We need time to get the models painted!

I am super excited.

Finally after months of waiting my pleasant surprise has arrived. Thank you Sandor, it arrived in great shape with no damages. I'm excited to use him in a game soon!

Surprise!!!!

A package arrived in the mail yesterday and lo and behold, a pleasant surprise!

Timbor had received my name from Soth as an alternate for the exchange, and sent me not one but two surprises!  I am now the proud owner of a splendidly painted Grand Master of the White Wolves and an equally impressive looking master gunner to oversee one of my war machines. I will post pictures ASAP, but wanted to the safe arrival and share the happiness.

Thanks Timbor for the wonderful surprises and thanks to Soth for another wonderful exchange.

Aha!  They did make it, glad to hear.  Hopefully they will serve you well!  :biggriin:

While we wait for Captain Schweinkreiger to post pics, you can see the miniatures I sent him on my blog here:

Those are much better pictures than I will ever be able to take, but I will do my best

1. Subscribed.

2. Wonderful figure. The colors really put the "Grand" in "Grand Master." Still keeps a wintery Ulric-y feel, but not as dull/earthy colored as many Ulric figures tend to be.

3. Regarding the "gradient card" that WK mentioned on that blog entry, it's not so much the color on the card as it is the curve that he mentions. Here's one of my old set-ups: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a195/ZeroTwentythree/minipaint/desk19oct2011.jpg The gradient is all about the curve of the paper, not so much about the color. Color is still important -- I like to use a slightly cool neutral, usually a bluish-grey. That's just a sheet from a local art store, cost less than $1. I'm not sure of the exact photo I was taking, but it looks like it may be this one: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a195/ZeroTwentythree/terraplog/stbldg01b.jpg if you're looking for a reference. The curve and the light create a natural gradient on a solid piece of paper. (I am dying to put together a light box like you did -- I'm just horribly distracted at the moment.)

Thanks for the comments!  If you check my more recent posts, I did find some gradients, and for free as well:

http://www.warbard.ca/files/backdrops_complete.pdf

I printed them off at work, and have used them for my pictures since.  Only downside is I printed them on regular 8.5x11 paper, so I can only picture so many models in one shot.

As for the light box, it took me about 15-20 minutes.  Quick and dirty but it works better than what I had before.  I just need to sort out a brighter light source than my CF daylight bulbs.
