I would point out that England lost that war so maybe their tactics were not so brilliant.   Also is shows the bloated heads that English people seem to have that they think everybody wants to be English :)  :eusa_wall:

What an amusing but wholly incorrect website

The fact that most of his examples are battles and not wars is quite telling...

Also he keeps changing his criteria for victory.

Ah, but we won the battles of Edgehill, First and Second Newbury, Adwalton Moor, Marston Moor, Naseby, etc etc (a whole bunch of battles in the 1640s and 1650s). Yup, we won all of those alright!

since this follows the official Empire list, you should be able to use it everywhere...
(no special rules for huntmen offcause)

That is why this is 100timer better than adding units to the bretonian list... any homemade units will not be allowed most places.

Didn't the Royalists win Edgehill and the Traitors win Marston Moor.   Me is a little confused

I was of the opinion that this was for home consumption.

Corrected that fer ya!

BTW: How can the English not win in the English Civil Wars? Englishmen on both sides in the stated battles.

To be fair Padre there were a load of scots around as well and not a few Irish :)

Yeah, wholly aware. But there were definitely Englishman on both sides in all the (carefully) selected battles! Marston Moor is the only one in that list with a large number of Scots and Irish on the field.

I have a similar list in the pipe-line based on The Empire army book representing a typical Border Princes army.  :biggriin:

There was an empire crusader army list in the 6th ed book.   It was great fun.

It was also in an old citadel journel, giving different rules for the knightly orders.

As far as I remember the list in the Empire book just made flaggys core and state troops special and cannons rare :)
