Estel's Cult of Ulric [WPofU XXVII.IV.MMXII]
« on: February 09, 2012, 09:06:06 PM »
Howk!
I would like to present you my new project which is Cult of Ulric Empire Army. This is not my new experience with this kind of hobby but I had a very long break so after nine months... here's what I was born... most of these models are in progress:

Knights of the White Wolf:

Grand Master Templar of Ulric:

KotWW & GMToU:

KotWW standard bearer:

Warriors of Ulric:

My "copy worktop":

Do you recognise this model? Yeah you right this is new VC Krell but not for me... for me it's going to be a Warrior Priest of Ulric.

These are wolves modeld which are going to be placed on KotWW movement trays:

What is your opinion about it?
Cheers!

Look like Space Wolves to me.

Absolutely fantastic stuff - I was looking at it and thinking "Why are the models primed and then green stuffed?" because all those figures I am used to being in metal. And then I realized it is Finecast.

Really, really great models - and superb sculpting.

The horsemen look like they were originally Blood Knights?

The cavalry look so savage and dynamic. I'm not really an Ulrican, but these are great.

I'm really curious to know where all the parts are from. Space Wolves?

Well...

Standard which you can see is from Forge World Space Wolves Dreadnought and the two heards and torsos are from FW SW Conversion set.
Horses are from Vampire Counts Bloodknights. Other heads are from GW Horse Marauders Box. Hammer on chapion is from Captain of The Empire with Hammer & Pistol blister. And there is many more small parts from various sets.

...I was looking at it and thinking "Why are the models primed and then green stuffed?" because all those figures I am used to being in metal. And then I realized it is Finecast.

Indeed they are finecast and I'm really heappy they aren't metal or plastic.

I cant wait too see these painted, what colors are you considering?

I don't know yet, but I think it will be mixture of blue, gray, yellow and few others typical colours...

are you going to use the old cult of ulric list?

I think I will try. There is really good "Polish version of CoU" maybe I will go for it one day. I also would like to see refreshed rules in new GW The Empire army book.

You are absolutely right sir! If we are talking about KotWW who bear the colour red on their banner, barding and sometimes even on the weapon hafts. But I was thinking generally about my whole mixtured army of Middenland and Ulrik. Nevermind.

Amazing miniatures. It's incredible how well those Blood Knight horses fit for KotWW. It certainly makes me want to pick some up for my Inner Circle KotWW, even at the ridiculous price they have reached (20$ for a single rider!). It certainly seems like you invested a lot of time/effort and money into this army. Those posts go a long way in showing the huge potential that can be unlocked with an empire army. Everyone expects the Empire to be the bland "humans" but there is just so much more to them.
Seeing your army yesterday really blew me away. I instantly showed some of your images to friends (they don't even collect empire and they loved it).
I have one question however. The model that you show after the full unit shot of your KotWW, the one on the Chaos lord horse with te werewolf-looking head, where is his head from? And what are you going to use him for (since with his calm pose he'd probably look out of place in the dynamic White Wolves). I always love seeing armies with an Ulrican feeling to them, but I must say, yours is definitely my favorite.

First answer is:click click Puppetswar
or mine one: maxmini
Second answer is: Horsemen with direvolf head gonna be BSB! He looks different than KotWW but I wanted to look different to tell him apart from rest of unit. I don't have idea what streamer I am going to make. Empty head.  :-(

And I'm not even that fond of skaven!  :-P
