time for another update. I recently moved back home for a couple of months while I work at my summer job. between finals and lots of drinking I was able to finish another 4 knights. I also started working on my captain of pegusas.

im very happy with how the knights are turning out. They are also doing very well on the table.

I have yet to try this guy out, but he will be replacing my hellblaster.

Since my empire are almost done and I am back home I have picked up work on my orcs again. I started these guys years ago before my empire. They are painted pretty simply, however, there bases were really bad. I have been replacing their bases with cork and snow bases.
Here is my converted warboss that I finished ages ago

my bsb that I just finished

my shaman

and the first group of boyz

I will continue to work on my empire, but I will be dedicating more time to my orcs. My goal is to finish my empire and all the orcs I have by the time I leave for Germany in August. If you guys are interested in seeing my orcs I will continue to post updates, if not ill just post empire.

Update both please....and where in Germany are you going?

Dwarves....
yeah, they really are comically small. Still, all that matters is that you're happy doing them.

I'm particularly fond of his Little Billy Landsknecht.

thanks for the comments guys.

Fandir- I will be going to Munich, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Berlin, Aachen, and Frankfurt. I might go to Austria as well but have not decided yet.

Zak- thanks, I still have 8 left to paint but I am taking a little break.

So no progress has been made on the empire sadly. I moved back home from school and left the material used for basing so my captain is just sitting on my desk waiting his turn. I have however been working on my orcs. most of what I have been doing is re basing them and filling out the first unit with a unit filler. I have gotten to the point where I will be adding more models instead of updating old ones.

first up is the unit of savage big uns with my shaman and warboss.

and a close up of the unit filler. I have two more of these and one will go in my unit of savage orc boyz, while the other will go with a unit of goblins if I ever get around to painting em.

and last up is the unit of trolls. I have two more that I will paint up. I really want to buy the new trolls but I dont have any reason and I have plenty of other things to buy for this army.

Right now I am working on the second unit of boyz. When they and the trolls are done ill start working on wolf riders and chariots.

hey everyone, its been awhile since Ive updated my empire. Recently I began working on my steam tank and its pretty close to being done.

I wanted to make it look ornate and not like a victorian style steampunk tank. If anyone can think of anything to add before I start painting it im all ears.

Now that beast is something which would be up there with our resident empire engineer Steveb's tank collection  :icon_eek:  It is really cool and I guess you will have many questions as to where you got the bits to cobble this together   :::cheers:::

Wow, looks truly great!

Just a matter of taste, but you might want to cover that rare part in some more scrolls and shields to make it less plain though.

I heartily approve, this is a great build. If I could find the parts, I would copy it without hesitation.  If you could find a couple of victorian style street lamps to add as headlights,  or tailights. or maybe one of those spinning double ball thingies they used to regulate pressure or some such, looked like an upside down V with brass balls on the ends that as it spun the arms with balls on the end would rise to be parralel.  possibly a prism glass skylight for the roof, and maybe a hot water tap near the back with some cups and all for tea break.  It looks pretty good anyway you look at it, now get busy and paint it.   :icon_biggrin: steveb

thanks for all of the comments everyone. I should say that it was Li Zhe's steamtank that gave me most of my inspiration. Other than the few Baneblade bits, most everything is from empire kits, the chem plant kit, and plastic card or greenstuff.

I have several lanterns that I could use, but I am not sure where to put them. The front is pretty busy as is. I will be putty more stuff on the boiler, im just torn as to what. Maybe a big S for Sigmar, or some sort of scroll work so i could put a name on it.

I started painting the wheels, I started off with lots of silver and some brass but now Im thinking of changing it to lots of brass with a little bit of silver.

You can't go far wrong spraying the entire puppy white, and then a massive dwarf bronze / bestial brown 50/50 mix,

amazing

Thanks for the comments everyone :biggriin:

I started painting the wheels which are now done. I want to have it a mix between black and brass with silver highlights.

The wheels started out as rotor gears for a model helicopter. I then wrapped them in plastic card and the center was made from the chem plant kit.

I still haven't done anything with the boiler, but I have put some purity seals on the turret and will begin painting that.

this is making me think stank i want one , must....... not ..... buy ....... more shiney .......things  ::heretic::
besides i have to fork out £200 on a new back tyre for the motor bike after some scaffold pin ruined its chances to be repaired so no new toys for a bit  :icon_cry:
On the boiler you should have a liitle fire plate and a dwarf or a grot shoveling in a funk load of coal from a little trailer, i know it should be hidden on the inside of the tank but it would look cool to see it.
If it wasn't for the dried frog pills i would be mad !!!!!!!

I love it all.   I'm with you on the expensive Knights.  I too bought both Empire Captain horses and Wizard wagon horses at a great expense.  I wish GW would at least release a horse set or phase out the old horses for new ones.  The Knights themselves are certainly not bad,  it's their horses I hate so much.

Since the models are not tied to the knight Sprue, this could be done without much pain.  Cmon GW!

unfortunately I dont have the technical skills to make it actually work, it was hard enough to build it. I have some bad news, the next week I will be very busy will life stuff. I then will be going to Germany for a month, and when I get back I will be moving and then starting classes again. So I wont have a lot of time to work on this for the next 5 or 6 weeks . I swear that once I get back and get settled I will resume work, I really want to get this things finished so i can use it.

I have decided on what I will be putting on the side of the boiler. I will be making a mold of this banner http://www.ebay.com/itm/WARHAMMER-BITS-EMPIRE-WAR-ALTAR-OF-SIGMAR-BANNERS-and-RIBBONS-/320964015462?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4abaf23566#ht_1967wt_1037. I will also use some of those scrolls and purity seals to spruce up the tank.

Thanks again for the enthusiasm and support on this build.
