You're all too kind.

Here are a couple of pics I took during production, which I forgot to post. They are of the "world" after painting was completed (truth in advertising : I then varnished this and it went cloudy on the gryphons and crinkled the sea in a couple of places, so I had to do repairs). Click for larger pics;

Next project : Sphinxes!

yeah, they really are comically small. Still, all that matters is that you're happy doing them.

You have done a very good job and made something very unik.

However I dont like the square base of the minitures on the circle. I think you should chamfer/fillet the corners round.

Really like the Lahminian warrior priestess!

It is difficult trying to find female models that are fairly modestly dressed - a priestess of a serious warrior cult is unlikely to be wandering around in battle in nothing more than a chainmail bikini . . . I had the vampire in the bits box, and she would make a good Priestess of Myrmidia in her aspect of Choreographer of the Heavens.

The Luminark will have priestesses of Myrmidia in her aspect as Maiden of the Sun and Slicer of the Snake . . .

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I would just continue this one . . .

Obviously, I still have the luminark sun zap lazor(TM) from the kit, and so I am making a luminark conversion too! This is merely the teaser post, so people can be teased with my plans . . .

Here are the original crazy sketches I posted (click for larger image);

Now, this design was inspired by this picture in Stolzeuhu's Ostermark thread;

but as you can see mine is very different from his.

But, then, I was inspired to change it again - Stolz, sorry, mate; but it is going to be much more heavily inspired by yours than my second idea . . .

Here are some pictures and links to various things which are going to make an appearance on the model (click to go deeper . . .)

Things are on order . . . soon they will be here! Soon! Soon!!!!!!

Bwahahahaha.

Bwaha.

Ha.

That last pic. Are those reptiles an appropriate warhammer size? Like would they work as lizardmen swarms? If so, what are they?  :::cheers:::

I don't believe they are the appropriate size - I think they are a bit big. They are "Reptile Toob" [sic] produced by Safari Ltd. Link

Shop here

They do a wonderful range of mythological creatures, including a truly beautiful gryphon which is the perfect size for Warhammer and is only $12!

Wow! Safari Lizards are great for basing some arcane vehicle! Hurricanium was on so high level of awesomeness that it would be hard to beat it... But I bet You can!

And go on with inspiration Darknight, I have too many non hobby activities right now to finish the Luminark, so it would be great to see the idea getting realised by someone!

Thanks, Sibi! Once the snakes arrive, I'll get some scale shots up. Like I say, I think they are a bit big.

I love how your mad ramblings/ concept art is on top of the funnies... :icon_wink:

That might be a major factor in the design.

Also, I forgot this model because it has already arrived and I'd deleted the "it is coming" email!

The ship arrived today! I've been very busy this week with setting up a network in our new office, so I was so tired I could do little but unbox it and take a few pictures. In this, I was assisted by The Hodgebeast, who is a small stuffed hedgehog who lives with me and at my expense. He lives on fine coffee and vanilla pastries, was made in Korea (the source of the ship) and seeks to take over the world.

If you wish to see pictures of him unboxing the model, visit this FB gallery.

Yes, the Hodgebeast has a fanpage. Because, you know, the internet.

Sorry for taking a while to get this to you, Siby - here is the comparision pic (click for larger image);

As people seem loathe to go to the fan page for a stuffed hedgehog with a Napoleon complex to see images, here are the pics so far - click for larger images!

The Hodgebeast examines the packaging of the Roman Warship, in an excited fashion as it is coming from the same country as him.

The Hodgebeast approves of the exterior of the box.

There are many small piecey-parts, which the Hodgebeast finds droll - he details me (as his assembly minion) to build it for him.

The Hodgebeast tests the assembled ship before shortening - he finds it to be long and thin, unlike him (who is short and fat) and dislikes this. He orders his assembly minion (me) to shorten it.

The boat has been shortened, and the beginning of the Temple at Delphi put on the back.

The two crew members in place so far (just held in with pins right now, they will be painted separately. I'll be adding a couple more too.)

The Hodgebeast is pleased with his snakey minions, who will carry the boat.

Various angles of the snakes supporting the boat; I tried to model it so it looked similar to a boat crashing through the waves - rearing up and heeling over to one side as boats do on rough water. The snakes are all intertwined around each other, giving the impression of waves. The base is one of Tiny's Demigryph bases (I had spares) extended with a cavalry base.

Comments welcome!

As you can see, I have sigged this, because my ego has no check.

Thanks very much - I thought it would be right up your alley.

Hmm - if I have such responsibility, then I will need an assistant. She doesn't need to be that beautiful.

Warhammer is all about the crazy - that is my firm view. If you want historical / non-crazy get some Perry models and play a historical game. Otherwise, bring me the insanity! Bring it ALL!

Also; I love that description of the model. I think that may become the official title of it. The extra boobs are most important.

I haven't read the books, sorry - but I hope that is as good thing!

Glad everyone likes it. I will be busy this weekend with various stuffs, but I will try to get more things done on it.

The ship thing looks fantasticly crazy. But the base is seriously too small.
You have read their mind Darius. That is probably how they hope you will think.

The base is the official base size for the Luminark. But, yes - it is very small indeed for the model. I considered a bigger base, but decided having the correct wargaming base was probably the better route.
