Element Games Webstore Opening Soon, criticisms/your thoughts very welcome!
Byronic:
Hello all, firstly my apologies for this seeming off-topic: it's not strictly hobby or gaming, and neither is it Empire related (although it could be: we do sell everyone's favourite feather-sporting chaps). If this is the wrong section of the forum for this please feel free to mod it somewhere else.
I've asked permission to post this in the forum, as it could be seen as advertising, and I've graciously been allowed to pick the forums members' collective brains for thoughts: good or bad, there's no need whatsoever to worry about causing offence: your opinion can never be wrong!
So here's the site: Element Games.co.uk
Basically the aim of the site is to provide outstanding customer service in every respect, a clear, easily navigable website, and of course a bit of a discount on GW products. There are more big plans for some other features to be added in the future, they're being thoroughly beta-tested now, and will be adapted after a fairly rigorous few months of hardcore use (by yours truly :)).
I'm a waffler by nature so I'll cut it short, in essence what do you dislike or like about the website, is there anything you think it's missing, and thank you ery much for taking the time to have a look! As previously mentioned our aim is to provide a customer friendly experience, keeping you updated throughout the delivery process, having clearly viable stock info etc, so any input at this stage will only help improve the website.
Finally, last but in no way least we are working on some 3d technology which will enable a truly 3 dimensional view of products, not 360, this is going to take a great deal of time but here's a (very) WiP shot to give you an idea of how it will work:
fully three dimensional view (of a steamtank :))
Cheers for looking, your thoughts really are appreciated!

I wouldn't bother with the 3D technology unless you were selling painted models. Work on making it easy to select items and add them to the cart without a popup or the page forcing you to go to the shopping cart. That's the biggest thing to focus on. Does GW let you post their images on your site?

I've got a comment for you:
Where the hell is the Black Templar book?!?! You have all the other books all nicely displayed but no Black Templar? They are the best and most pure of the Space Marines you know.

I paint up models a lot anyway, so it's something we can keep 'boiling over' as a useful feature on the website, it's handy to be able to see stuff from every angle (apart from underneath :)). Also when KF on deathclaw is up it should get a few views, as well as giving a better impression of the proportions from above etc.
We've just been working on the cart today and it's not dragging you to the top of the page or anything irritating like that when you place an order, I've linked this page to the designer so he can keep track of the technical stuff :) There's various complicated rules with their images, we've been in contact with them and are making sure we adhere to the box art rules etc.
