Gosh, some1 says that he/she is a girl and all of you auto-agree with him/her?
I really, really don't want to get sucked into the trap of
arguing on the internet... but as MarkoV seems to keep bringing this back to
me instead of my post... Well, I feel the need to respond. To begin with, I am in fact a female-type woman person
and from Michigan. Which of those two makes me a bigger oddity, I will leave as an exercise to the reader.
1. If considered as criticism of current players who cry about quite good 8ed Empire, poking eyes of blind people does not make you savior
It is a criticism, intended as tounge-in-cheek, not only of current players but of a general trend in
all manner of geeky hobbies. The original form is drawn from an entry on
TFWiki.net listing all of the ways in which the
Transformers franchise was "ruined forever." If it wasn't funny, that's my fault as a writer. But enough people here seem to be chuckling, so maybe its just a question of taste?
2. If post is serious, it's pathetic.
It wasn't intended to be serious. If you honestly beleive that I felt the
second book in the three book boxed set of first edition WHFB ruined the game forever... well... that's not the fault of my writing skill, that's the fault of whoever taught you the basics of literary analysis.
Respect for aged Empire player, but i play empire since 5th edition, and i find it better and better every ED. Yes, they nerf something over editions, but overall picture is unique: We can do what others cannot. Field entire shooting army, entire knighly army, entire WARMACHINES army if we like. And now in 8ed, we can field entire Chariots Army
Actually, apart from a few games with the bits from the WHFB 6th Edition starter box, I've never played the Empire before. I started collecting my army about three months ago and was pleasantly surprised to get a new book so suddenly. I played WHFB quite a bit in 4th & 5th Editions (Bretonnia), stopped sometime during 6th (all my freinds were interested in other games), and didn't start again until 8th (Old book TK, then Dark Elves)...
So, Empire rules(Thus, negating your premise that world have ended...repeatedly)
You have totally missed my actual premise: The Empire is not ruined forever.
Johnathan Swift really didn't think the Irish should eat their children.
