New 40k edition,

And Eldar could be getting a new book soon!!! :biggriin:
But on a romours note, I'm happy with alliances as my Eldar could theoretically ally with my space marines.
Either that or I will just get some imperial guard

Finlay I have a list as big as my arm on why I don't like 8th edition fantasy.  I can honestly say I don't like ANY of the changes they made from 7th to 8th edition, which is why I sold virtually all my fantasy models.  I only kept what I did in the hope when 9th rolls around I will like it more.

Just off the top of my head, random charge ranges, steadfast, cavalry sucking badly, magic being great if you have a new lore, but comparatively poor otherwise, dwarfs being super fast, random terrain, limited choice of characterful magic items.

On top of this we have every army becoming the same, with empire now gaining monsterous mounts for knights, tomb kings the same, its only a matter of time before dwarfs and skaven also get mounted units.

Noone has to agree with me, its my money and my opinion, I have no problem with going to another game system if I don't like what I see.  I certainly have no interest in playing a game that isn't what I want it to be.

I have probably £3000+ of 40k models.  I think I have a right to be concerned that I may not like the new system.  5th edition is perfectly functional and does not need changes to bring in LOLs.  It just needs a handful of rules tweaking, primarily cover needs to be less powerful, and heavy tanks need some kind of protection from being instantly melted.

Whoa, slow down tiger!

Fair enough that you don't like it, and there is certainly a great deal of merit in some of what you say.

but really, cavalry not being so good and steadfast are great changes!

I dont mean to rant Philly.  But I was asked a question and I replied.  Not that is any excuse but I was ill all day yesterday and I guess I could have worded things differently.

For what its worth, I have skipped editions before.  I stopped 40k when 3rd edition came out, as I thought it was too much of a simpletons game after 2nd edition.  I came back in 4th when it seemed to be getting better, and I have spent a lot in 5th which is probably my favourite edition so far, well tied with 2nd anyway.
