Hello fellow wargamers. For next year Mordheim Campain I decided to play Marienburg warband. For that purpose, I ´d like to make a new gang.
I like the idea of making Marienburgers mainly from 7th edition empire archers. I think that adding some extra bits from free company, state troops, eventualy some armoured bodies for heroes could make a nice warband.

I ´d like to continue in classic style, which was typical for original mordheim Marienburg mercenaries.

I ´ve been already looking for similar ideas, but didn´t find much about. I ´d like to ask If someone has any good ideas nor experience? Thanks

I don't have much experience with marienburg

for ideas I suggest you check out Tom's Boring Mordheim Forum. You are much more likely to find want you're looking for

as far as archer bodies are concerned, I think those are a great idea!
if you have a saw and greatsword torsos you can make awesome armoured champions

Finally found some time for buying a box of archers, putting them together and eventually painting two of them...

Excellent! I've chosen to build me bowmen and militia too. How do you undercoat and how long did they each take you? Also could you tell me the recipe for your reds and yellows.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. I simply undercoat by black spray. But some of the new colours are still bad to cover....

Oh, and the colours recipe is pretty simple too. I do not have a huge array of coulour, so I just mix the spcific colour with some darker or lighter paint...

Yellow : 1st guy - Blood Red + Sunburst Yellow (1:1)
Blood Red + Sunburst Yellow (1:2)
Sunburst Yellow
Sunburst Yellow + Skull White (2:1)
Sunburst Yellow + Skull White (1:1)

2nd quy: Bestial Brown + Bubonic Brown (1:1)
Bestial Brown + Bubonic Brown (1:2)
Bubonic Brown
Bubonic Brown + Skull White (1:1)
Bubonic Brown + Skull White (1:2)

Red : Chaos Black + Blood Red (1:1)
Chaos Black + Blood Red (1:2)
Blood Red
Blood Red + Skull White (1:1)
Blood Red + Skull White (1:2)

The measures are of course approximate...

Excellent work! It would be fantastic to see a 20 man detachment of those guys. (Considering how pricey swords are now, I can't imagine a horde)

Thank you very much. I'm going to use that yellow on my next unit. The black and white checks on the first guy has inspired me to do a lot more free hand work on my troops.

Thanks quys! although warband isn´t fullpainted, we have already started year campaign and I´have won against wood elves and night goblins yet!

Brown on the 2nd youngblood is simply bestial brown - at firs darkened by choas black and then lightened up...
Im´just sorry that I do not have much time for working on it because I´m making some commissions too...

But, adding some early WIPs though...

Adjusting your aperture to a smaller setting will also bring more of the miniature into focus.
