So much for careful work. I have dropped and repaired this thing twice now - a ridiculously fiddly business. Then I noticed a smudge on the middle lens, so instead of trying water first I thought 'It must be paint' so I applied paint thinners. This made a new, permanent smudge. In the end I had to yield to fate and smudge the whole thing and make it opaque so that it didn't look as bad. I shall say that the pseudo-science/magical reason for this cloudiness is that this lens is intended to allow ethereal realm light through and not mundane world light! I may even pretend I did it deliberately as no-one will ever know .... doh!
Here is a top view ...

The crew are figures from my bits box. As well as chopping a staff off one and finding a replacement arm for the other (plus modelling an outer sleeve to match the other arm) , I had to turn a short thigh length tunic into a floor length robe.
Here's the guy who's had an arm transplanted ...

Here you can see the smudge fudge that happened to the middle lens ...

This shows the jewelry chain I used to harness the horses - this involved a lot of fiddling around with needles and thread trying to pull the chain through the hoops.

And here is a side view of the whole machine. Can't decide which side is best.

Don't bother commenting on the base - I have always run out of steam by the time I get to the base, so I do them basic. I have this time managed to get the width right, but once more I built before considering the base size and the whole thing is 25 mm too long. One day I'll scratchbuild something onto the right sized base. One day.
I will come up with fluff for the thing when I have a reason to (some future campaign I hope) though I have loose ideas jumbling around in my noggin.
