I was thinking that GW needs to cut armies to make floor space for new armies.  You know who they could cut with no real problem?  Wood Elves.  I like the Asari, but they could go to make room for Araby or Cathay or Chaos Dwarfs.  We have two other, more vital Elven races.

Sigmar's beard, no! I would not trade WE for any of those. Especially not Chaos Dwarfs. I'm a bit glad GW got rid of them in the first place. I think Araby would make an awesome army, but at least do the right thing and toss the horrendously underplayed TK away instead!

Or they could just introduce another army without squatting another. Of course, that would just delay all the other books even more...

My late entry

Empire- Must I explain?  I'll admit I get bummed out when I lose with the empire.
Chaos Warriors- I loves me a cruel savage barbarian horde.  I imagine them to be a bunch of little angry Mathis.  Conversion options are exciting (warped chaos warriors using old school hunchbacked Warriors for example).    They hit like a 10 lb mailed fist. .. oh and they make a good intro army for my friends.
Orcs and Goblins- They're the most cartoonish of all the Warhammer Races and the most fun.  I can lose a game with them and laugh all the way.  I laugh when they have animosity,  I laugh when fanatics come looping back into their own units.

Not interested
Lizardmen-  I love the lizardman rulebook,  I hate the models, the theme, just about everything about them.  Especially fighting them!
Skaven-  Not at all interested in smelly rat men.  They deserve nothing less than extermination.
Undead-  This goes for all dead things.  I prefer they stay dead, and have no interest in them other than to return them to their graves where they belong.

Yes, HHG is right, I didn't count the Empire at all because this is an Empire site. You can imagine a row with lots of of love and no hate in the top of the table if you wish. This also means that the stats don't balance out at 0 and there is an overweight of minuses, as noted. It wasn't my intention to add things up like this when I started it, otherwise it would have been better not mentioning the Empire at all.

Most Appealing-
Empire of course, love the combined arms/greater than the sum of its parts vibe. Also love the engineering.
Dwarfs- I like the imagery of the stoic defenders fighting the hordes of bad guys. Like the empire I love the engineering (also like chaos dwarfs for the same kind of reasons)
Daemons- hear me out here, while they are a bit abstract that that's one of the things I really liked about them. They arent bound by natural laws etc. They're more a force of nature than anything else... Despite being highly unnatural.

Least-
Elves- surely if you're a few in number race you've got better things to be doing than jumping into a grind...
Skaven- all the wonkiness with their fluff. How does noone know of them? Really? Also their engineering is silly.

I'll start by saying the the most appealing section are also the armies I have bought models on the cheap from various sales I came accross. I basically have enough purchased product to have at least 2000pt armies+ of each. My plan is to start the army when each new book is out. I'm currently working on Empire. I do want to work on my vampire counts but I'm very adamant on making it a bretonnian theme so there's lots of converting to be done.

Most Appealing
Empire I started empire because I still had the old starter box stuff laying around. Then I saw the potential for converting.
Vampire Counts The fluff is interesting and I like the modeling oportunities - you can have undead from any race!!! Once the codex got redone I was hooked.
Dark Elves Bad Elves, the raiding theme got me. And I also liked the rules. I'll be honest, it was the naked sorceresses.
Beastmen Cool models. Fluff is so so, I got 2 battleforces and a minobus waiting for a new book to come out.
Wood Elves I always like the wood elves in fantasy. Many of the models are unique and I like the way its more of a raiding force. I got alot of these guys waiting for me to build the army.
Brettonia Lots of knights and peasants, medieval army. I'm a big knight fan.
Dwarfs My friend played this army and then we switched one day, I read the codex and really liked them. I had way to many models so I figured I'd never get any until I came accross a 50% off sale so I got a battleforce. Then I hunted on ebay for some extra models and bam!
And bugman's brewery is in the heart of Wissenland so I won't be able to stop myself from making a bugmans rangers army.

Middle Ground
Lizardmen I almost started fantasy in 6th edition and was going to pick Lizardmen cause I liked the look of dinosaurs, the aztec theme, and the way the army synergy worked on the tabletop. Now they are kinda outdated so I no longer have interest.
Tomb Kings Bleh. No interest.
Orcs & Goblins Perhaps in the future, but I'd rather play against them for now. I got 2 starter sets worth of models so maybe I will one day start these guys. Or just use the models in cool fight scenes for other army unit fillers.
High Elves Fluff is alright, rules are cool but just can't get fully into it. I only bought a battleforce and some chariots to convert for Dark Elves and wood elves.

Least Appealing
Warriors of Chaos Like the marauders and some of the viking theme but I just could never get into the 'chaos gods' fluff in fantasy or 40k.
Ogre Kingdoms Meh. I think the models look ugly so I couldn't get into it.
Skaven The whole army and fluff just seem blah to me. Perhaps this will change in time.
Deamons same as WoC, just can't get into the chaos fluff.
For Wissenland and the Countess!!!

What?!? Those armies are needed as much as a baculum and would result in two other, more vital human "races" (armies, actually).
Some German words are so long that they have a perspective. Whenever I come across a good one, I stuff it and put it in my museum.

Most Appealing:
Wood Elves - It's interesting to have an army that plays differently to others.  Pity they are virtually unplayable. Good Models.
WOC - Pathetically easy to play, no real brain power required.  Point and click and win.  Satisfying to have units who do something.
Dark Elves - Cheap 7th ed troops. Great models. Assassins.

Least Appealing:
Empire - Terribly unintuitive army book leaves me uninspired.  Troop costs are a joke across the board. I'm still playing Empire but I'm not really enjoying it.
Daemons - Boring, unrelatable concept with terrible models.
High Elves - Aweful, unintuitive army book.  Speed of Asuryan is a crutch for bad development and writing.

Likes:
Dark elves and Skaven for their cheerfull disregards for life in general
Empire for it's underdoggish aspects
vampire counts for their conversion possibilities (kill any mini and ta-ta fresh zombies  :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:)
Lizard men but only when fielded as a thunder-lizard army (lots of dinosaurs) and comp usually makes this a no go in tourney settings locally so I haven't bothered starting them..

Dislike:
High elves, mainly because of models
Ogres mainly because of one-dimensional army build these days
Warriors of chaos, you can say whatever you want but vikings they are not. If they were vikings though? Still wouldn't play them come to think of it...

Things that fit in my book:
* Empire & Dogs of War: The possibility to convert, and the idea of men struggling to survive and make a coin out of it.
* Dwarfs: Just the idea of those little ancient men.
* Orcs & Goblins: The possibility to convert and the humor this army has to offer.

Things I write on a piece of paper:
* Chaos Dwarfs: The idea of little ancient men, who make slaves. I had some love for the big hats, but the original ones are still the best.

The other:
* Ogres: Not there current form. I like the older, slimmer dogs of war figures more.
* Elves (in any form): To arrogant.
