1000pts - stirland armoured might

Hi all
Slowly painting up my starter army. Not very keen on the state troops models and I like the greatswords + knights models, so I building up towards a heavily armoured force. I like the Stirland colours and I know lots of expensive plate mail isn't necessarily in keeping but I have some fluff in mind.
Might as well treat as all comers, quite fancy trying a tournament but will get some practise in first.
So starter lists looks like this:
Warrior Priest, Arm of Met Iron, 2nd Hand weapon: 117
(in with the greatswords)
Battle wizard: 65
(bunkers in handgunners)
10 Handgunners, marksmen: 100
8 IC Knights, full command: 230
24 Greatswords, full command: 294
+
12 Halberdiers detachment: 72
Great cannon: 120
Total 998
What do you think?
Planning to work up towards a GS horde of 40+ with halberd detachments and 15 IC knights. Plus Demi-Gryphs, Helblaster, Archers speed bumps and a pegi captain. A steam tank would fit the armoured might theme (not really stirland), but I don't really like the model that much.

A little pricey but at least he can stand up to some punishment.

Lore of Fire is a solid choice for a Lvl 1 since its signature spell is so good.

I assume that the marksmen is to take challenges for the Wizard. If this is the case then I wouldn't bother. Most things that get the charge on this unit will slaughter it enough that challenges aren't the big issue.

Do these guys have lances? I'd recommend them at this point value since the shield helps them stay alive.
24 Greatswords, full command: 294

12 Halberdiers detachment: 72
Solid investment as a mainstay combat unit.
Great cannon: 120
Don't leave the province without it.

Thanks for the feedback.
I think the price is worth it, more about keeping another round or two of hatred + prayer buffs on greatswords than anything.
Not really thought about lore, but I quite fancy painting a fire wizard so no arguement there!
Marksmen is mainly because I have 10 spare points! Gleaming penant for the IC knights might be more useful
