Back after a little break. Should be updating this regularly again from now on. Broke myself back in with an engineer:

Looks really good - although his coat doesnt have the more vibrant blue tones that the helblaster crew have (which i liked a lot btw - i gotta get me one of those powder monkeys - they are just too cool!). Maybe the engineer gets more soot on him than regular crewman though.

Hi tarnell. Really love the army. I was just wandering how you got the blue/ turquoise armor on your knights and demi gryphs. Been trying to do something simular on mine but it keeps just turning out awful. Love the army and keep it up !

The handgunners didn't make the list I'm afraid. At 9pts each they're a bit pricey for 24" range move or fire. If I did ever use them I think I'd swap the handguns for xbows for the extra range. Now I feel silly putting 2 packs worth of xbows in the bin :'(

Still to come though: 15 knights with lances (the white wolves didn't make the list either), BSB on foot, Warrior priest, Captain on Pegasus, and a War Altar.

Yea sure, I started with this:
Base: incubi darkness
Layer 1: incubi darkness + sotek green mix
Layer 2: sotek green
Highlight: temple guard blue

Then I started using this as it was a lot quicker but had similar results:
Base: sotek green
Wash: nuln oil (black)
Layer: sotek green
Highlight: temple guard blue

Hope this helps

I wanted to differentiate him from the normal crew so it's meant to be a dark leather coat. I was going to keep it black but I thought I'd give it a hint of turquoise to tie it in.

Caught the Warhammer bug again (how did i lose it?), and I'm making a push to finish painting a 2500 point list and then I can paint other units at a steady pace for further options afterwords.

The handgunners I assembled sadly didn't make the list as 24" move or fire for 9 points isn't worth it imo. Will use bases and unit fillers for archers later down the line though.

First off I re painted the turquoise on the Engineer to match the Hellblaster crew based on feedback.

Here's what I've painted so far this year.

4 down, 4 to go.

Weapons are magnetised for my lance or more pricey sword of might build. The base is from Scibor if anyone was wondering  :-D

I just read through your entire blog again. What can I say? Love that Turquoise!

Amazing. Thanks for the inspiration (and more importantly, the motivation).

Keep it up!

No, I'm sending it to people I reckon I can trust. Or, at least, people I think I can murder should it become neccesary.

That's a bit harsh - he could have used the pegasus from the Bretonnian set.

It was the best fit for the army I could find at the time. It's good enough for me anyway.

Not that I need to justify it. You took the time to post on my plog stating that it's boring you. That's pretty rude, and pretty sad.

It's a long-standing insider joke, Tarnell - unfortunately, like all insider jokes it is both incomprehensible to those outside and not all that funny when explained. The joke is simply that people use a Bretonnian Pegasus for Empire armies, that this is the only practical choice, but that people never acknowledge this and act as if the Bretonnian Pegasus is both innovative and has never been suggested before.

Sorry - it is a longstanding running joke on this site, and when I saw your post count I assumed you would have seen it before.
Fandir wouldn't ever criticise anyone's painting and conversions - have you seen his work  :engel:  or mine for that matter.

Very cool stuff mate. It's coming along fast!

No worries, I haven't got 'Insider' status yet but I was aware it was a common kit bash so I took it as sarcasm.
