What photo hosting site would please suggest ?
Looking at Tiny-pic, their parent company is Photo-bucket and the site is full of those annoying pop-up adverts. Imgur has a nasty sounding Terms and Conditions.

I am trying to "re- image" the lost pictures from photobucket in my History of the Empire," but for some reason the hight/width seems to be capped at 500. At first I thought it was something I did wrong with imgur, but I tried it on another website and there it worked.

This picture should actually be 715x976, but is always converted to 366x500:

Any advice?

Add sizing code. But when you do, get the proportions right! Unlike this ...

which is [-img width=750 height=384]http://i.imgur.com/fnmIRO7h.jpg[-/img] without the two '-'s.

Photobucket has now re-destroyed my pictures, so the first half of my collected works thread is no longer working again. To see my website version of the campaign thread, with fully functioning pictures, please go to https://bigsmallworlds.com/

Using a ruler I make the sides to be proportionately 92 to 127, so

width 1500 x (127 / 92) gets a height of 2070

which is [-img width=1500 height=2070]http://i.imgur.com/fnmIRO7h.jpg[-/img] without the two '-'s.

Which doesn't work.

So tried doubling the now coded sizes to 724 and 1000...

Hmm.

It auto corrects to the preset size now. But didn't the first time. Hmm.

[edit] Doesn't work whatever I do now.
[edit] Works now - as proved by second attempt above. Thanks Mids.

This might have been a fix we implementing trying to combat an older photobucket issue. Will raise with bugman.

I think I have fixed it.
There was a setting of 800w x 500h in the Layout control.
Just disabling it and then modifying your pic to the dimensions you gave has changed your picture Fidelis - does it look ok now?

It will only work now on new posts - previous ones will need editing like Padre has tried and done.

We may have to impose some restriction as pictures could appear huge and members will be moaning they cannot get them to fit posts  :engel:

Thank you, Midaski, now it works. One just needs to remove the added width and height numbers, and then the original picture will appear.

This afternoon the website was not accessible for a couple of hours - I just got the message that it was deemed a security risk.

Multiple spam threads started this morning.

I pointed one out to the moderators, but then the site wouldn't let me report the rest, said I had to wait 60 seconds.

Given the recent increase in spam, maybe you could remove or reduce the 60 second delay?

I got this message today when opening the site:

"Sorry Victor, you are banned from using this forum!
This ban is not set to expire."

The same happened when I logged out and wanted to open the forum as a guest. "Sorry Guest, you are banned ...". I noticed I could view the site again as a guest now after several hours, cleared my browser cookies and could log in again. Did this happen to anyone else?

The only thing I can think of is that your IP is the same as one of the spammers we have banned recently.

If you PM me with your IP I can try and see if it corresponds with any of them.
Can you remember when you logged in successfully before - that would narrow down the list of suspects.

Hello! I thought about that possibility, as I usually use a vpn to surf the internet, so my IP is probably different every other day. When I got that message, I tried it without the vpn but got the same result, even as guest, which is a bit odd. Maybe I should have cleared the cookies at that point as well. I still find it a bit strange, but I guess you are correct.

Now the question is, can true account-bans happen automatically, or is that an admin decision? Is there an email address that I could write to in case something like this happens again? I tried to look for a way to contact an admin, but found nothing. Cheers!

I use a VPN a lot and this happens to be on some sites. Usually I can fix it by turning the VPN off, or switching servers, and then clearing cookies. It's very likely because the VPN server has been used by spammers or because it registers as suspicious traffic.
