Star Wars: Rebels
« on: October 25, 2014, 01:39:03 PM »
Anyone following this? And what is your take on it?

I liked the first double episode but found the 2nd one a bit slow, but maybe needed for plot purposes.
I like the graffics better then of the clone wars which seem a bit dim/ too greyísh

I've been watching it. Like it so far, especially the first episode. I like the graphics and characters, but am waiting for a few more before I make much of a judgement on the plot.

So far I like it.  The pilot episode (the hour long one) was okay.  I guess I was hoping it would be like firefly but in the star wars verse.  Saw episodes 2 and 3 and 2 was okay and 3 with the tie fighter hijacking was really good.

I fell out of love with the Star Wars franchise around the early 2000's. Maybe the new movies will get me invested again?

I watched the pilot and the second episode.  Its not for me.  I much preferred clone wars, of which I watched every episode.  This one seems more for kids IMO.

Saw an episode this weekend, seemed rather kid oriented indeed. I mean I know Storm Troopers are supposed to always miss but at a distance of 2-3 meters? Not firing when the protagonist stands still for 5 seconds, in the open, at 3m distance, during a fire fight? Fruit dissapating blaster shots?

after 4 episodes I'm still waiting on some more depth on the plot..

I was a big fan of the Clone Wars series.

Haven't seen any of Rebels yet.

I havn't been as impressed with the past two or three episodes. I liked the pilot, and the first episode. The rest have been a bit meh or kiddie. Of course it's probably meant more for the kids but I was hoping for a bit more plot.

Maybe once they get through giving each pair of characters their own "bonding" episode it will move on to bigger things.

I've only seen the first 3 or 4 episodes of the series, but after seeing the trailer for season 2, I really need to pick it back up.

I fell out after Episode III and KOTOR games, which I still love to this day. For me the best SW cartoon was the Clone Wars from early 2000's, made by Gendy Tartakovsky.

I'm starting all over again with Star Wars. Went on a binge, watched 1, 2, 3, then 7. Now 4, 5, 6 are waiting for me, as well as Battle for Endor and Caravan of Courage. And I'm so badass that I'm also going to watch the Christmas special. I recently read that Carrie Fisher got a copy from George Lucas himself, and she still plays it. If only to get people out of her house when the party is over.

Edit:
Also, I was under the impression that the Clone Wars animation series was already geared towards kids. No, not because it's cartoon style, but from what little I saw.

What do you mean?

Holistically it adds depth to the prequels, and utilises good chunks of the EU.

I mean the Tartakovsky one or the new one? Both are good IMO.

So I actually started watching this on Netflix and I'm surprised by how good it is. It makes the most of the premise without overdoing anything and it's kinda nice to not have the focus on any main cast characters.
