HOORAH! Eurobash 2017 - The 10th Anniversary Edition
« on: November 25, 2016, 09:32:18 PM »
This is advance warning of the dates for next year's Eurobash so you can all start planning now. Soth has confirmed the dates that work best for him, An, and the club.

The 2017 Bash will be held on:

Saturday April 29th, Sunday April 30th and Monday May 1st

The Monday is "May Day" and a Public Holiday in Belgium, as well as most of Europe.

So Travelling Friday April 28th and probably going home Tuesday May 2nd

Usual Venue - HQ Club at St Niklaas, Belgium.

We plan to book a number of twin rooms BEFORE Christmas, for the full 4-night stay (Friday to Monday inclusive).
Those rooms will be allocated to people as they confirm they will definitely be coming. Once those rooms are filled it will be pot luck if there are still vacancies at the IBIS or we will look at the 'New Flanders' hotel as back-up.

IBIS Hotel pricing confirmed for 2017 as same as last year:

65 euro, single room, includes breakfast
78 euro, TWIN room, includes breakfast for two.

Last year we each paid 60 euros total for the 4 evening meals. The only other costs were maybe a lunchtime snack and of course the odd (?) beer ........................

I will edit and amend this post as any new info comes along, and feel free to post your intentions and likely attendance below.

As it is the 10th year running we are hoping that it will be a bit special with the return of some people who haven't been for a while, and maybe some new faces who keep talking up attending only to fade away in the end ............................

Attending:

Now Ratman is a go for 99%
Gobbo also said he probably can make it (I'd say 75%, depending on financials)
Erwin (find a nickname for him!) is thinking about it

I can't make that weekend I'm afraid.

I'm away from April 30th to May 7th.

If it were possible, I'd be there.

Alas.

I'm actually quite bummed out I can't come. Especially since it's the 10th edition.

Can't you call it the 10 1/2th edition and do the 10th edition next year?

That would make me feel better (that and not drinking anymore bloody schnapps).

I would so much want to come but I doubt my economy can take it, as usual. Or my work for that matter.

But theoretically, could my girlfriend and maybe my youngest son come with me if it would become possible?
Oh, and remember GW made it personal, not you!

Of course,

but I advise against bringing the girlfriend. Unless she plays Warhammeresque games she will tend to get bored and thus need your attention, which would take away from the experience for you...

It is really more of a boys night out weekend...

That said, Novogord brings his girl as well, but since she is a regular visitor of the club AND plays MtG, she can let him play his games while playing that herself. And of course there is my An, who just slaves away to feed all the troops....

I am also considering bringing my gf, so maybe we can arrange a gf table with a bunch of shoe magazines?  (JUST KIDDING) . My gf has the willingness to try games, and really wants to join me on this trip (last year I join her family trip), but if you dont play games there is not much else to do. Dinner/breakfast is always fun for everyone, but you have to play.

Anyone else traveling from the south? Maybe we could join up and travel together (Freiburg, Germany)

Time for commitment people.

If we want to be sure of rooms at the Ibis then Soth will need to book them very, very soon.

Normally we can attend.

That could be read to mean you cannot this time ...........................

I am also considering bringing my gf,

Now we really are in the realms of fantasy ................................  :engel:
Just kidding.

German contingent needs to sort itself out quickly.
Pretty poor show really - Team UK consistently wins the attendance ratings year after year ............................  :biggriin:

The Salad Wagon  :icon_exclaim:
Aldaris leaving early for a bunk up -
Gnu and Valmir talking the talk and bottling ............. get your priorities right.

What's the best they've managed in one year?    3 nationals and a Colombian supporter  :engel:

I will commit to one bed for me, and later this week I will confirm if another one is needed.

Atm if anyone wants or is willing to share a ride to St Niklaas, we could share the costs. Hopefully someone that lives in a easy to reach city by train/busses. Only me, if gf does decide to come then driving is not only easier/cheaper but will allow her freedom to do non-bash activities.

Pay attention - she wants to play Frostgrave, and what game was played most last year ...............
It also sounds like she is an RPGer.  :biggriin:  and it also sounds like he doesn't mind giving her attention  :closed-eyes:

@Mathi - I'd be more worried about "youngest son" - who I think is 7  :icon_question:
Not sure that would be a good idea.

I know its a little early, but can we speculate on which games are likely to make an appearance in the Bash?

Likely:

Age of Sigmar
40k
Frostgrave
Magic: The Gathering
Munchkin (?)

Maybe:
Mordheim
Letters from Whitechapel

I can offer to bring Gorechosen, I bought the game and have not played it yet. Anyone interested?

I am asking to show a few videos and try some games to see if my gf likes them.

Note: Until now I am UNDEFEATED in mafia, I am soo good that you guys seem to be scared of playing with me.
