here we have the champion of the group, Erwin alterburk and his companion drummer Karl lowenhof

Erwin was a young lad when he made his way to the great swords, his village had been raided by dark elves and he alone, with his friend Karl would fight off the attackers trying to make their way to sack a near by manor, he and Karl held the position against waves of enemies as the scattered remains of the village made their way to assist in the fight, by the end of the combat the manor was standing as it was before, overlooking a burned ruin of a formerly proud fishing town, after a short time a small nordland patrol showed up to check on the town, where they were quite surprised to arrive at a destroyed village and yet be greeted with open arms by a large group of survivors.

Alterburk and Lowenhof would continue on in the great swords for quite some time fighting alongside their commander and often questing around the empire when the got the chance.

another shot of the standard

and the swords men

the swords of hargendorf would be the stalwart defenders of the town in the conflict, holding off wave after wave as they fought on often moving towards the beach to try and push their opponents out, their equipment was stained with blood and dirt after the conflict forever marking the swordsmen of hargendorf down as the red swords of the north

timed it perfectly so no news would be sent when they released these in attempts to hide them, little did they expect I was ahead of them.

landsknecht arrived, the box contained 12 metal halberds, 2 pike spures and 2 zweihander sprues, the zweihanders are plastic

Posted in Other Manufacturers thread on Saturday.
Hasn't got the pics of the sprues hamster supplied but few more details on the contents of the sprues.

Quote
To recap the Pikemen box:
It says 30 Pikemen and you get 5 sprues with 6 bodies and 9 heads - BUT you also get a half-size command sprue with bits to make an extra body so 31 in total as far as I can see.

The Zweihanders box has 4 sprues - the same armoured bodies (24) of the pikemen and the same choice of 9 heads. 2 Sprues are straight from the pikemen box, but you get 2 sprues where the pikes are changed for plastic two-handed swords. There are 6 sword arms on each sprue so maximum 12 zweihanders in total.
There are 12 separate metal halberd right arms.
No command sprue.
So you could do 12 and 12 and have 12 pikearms (right) left over BUT you have to use the left arms for the metal halberds - however I suspect some Edition 6 Soldiers of the Empire left arms will work with other plastic bodies one might have  :engel:

The Missile weapons box has 5 sprues with 6 different bodies (unarmoured) - again 9 heads BUT only 4 of them are the same as on the pikemen and zweihander sprues.
You get 6 crossbows and 6 handguns on each sprue so you can make however many you like up to 30 in total.
No command sprue.

So there is some flexibility with 14 different heads across the sets. I think I am going to do some research on the different 'looks' of Pikemen and Landsknechts.
Warlords say they cover German/Tyrol and Early Swiss on the box, but I also have metal Foundry, Artizan, and even Warlord's ECW plastic pikemen with morion helmets and it may be interesting to see if the heads from that set could be interspersed with these latest Italian Wars ones.

I was going to get the garrisons halberdiers done, but then I decided to make a holy roman empire themed pick guard, if it's any concession I will let you guys vote on the next flag I do for it

in other news, Prussian infantry was completed this week, got some nice pictures of them

the one on the left is named Wilhelm, so is the one on the right, and center, but 2nd right is Friedrich Wilhelm
