Moving ahead
« on: December 27, 2018, 10:35:21 AM »
Hello there, its been a long long time since I last posted here. I kinda lost the spark a bit, but now I am eager to get back in to some proper painting. I recently did an inventory of what I have lying around. Found some stuff I thought I lost, including a full Morr-themed army which is great, and some stuff I was pretty sure i still had appears lost, oh well.

Now I am looking forward to make an all metal 4th-5th ed army, I dont have everything I need yet ibut a pretty good base atleast. Unsure though if I am to expand on either of my current armies, the Morr themed one, or my more recent Nordland, or start something completely different? Inspire me folks!

What is your plan, to use it for game play, or just for the sake of having it?

If it be to do some gaming, then what do you have for figures and units already?

And welcome back! :::cheers:::

Thanks :) Well, I suppose I will aim at creating a valid army, and who knows, one day I might even play it. That said focus will be on creating a nice looking old style force, power level is not a factor.

I'm not familiar with what a valid army was during 4th/5th edition.  Maybe upgrade it to 6th or 7th edition.

It could be helpful to know what units your army currently has.

What I have now is:

About 20 greatswords
10 or so Xbows
10 Handgunners
10 halflings with bows
15 Reiksguard foot Knights
20ish Flaggellants
A couple of pistoliers
A couple of Kislev horse archers
Warwagon
2x halfling hotpots

Various characters

What I intend to add:
Knights, as many of the old metals ones I can get.
If possible a unit of Kislevites
A warmachine or 2
Some basic troops, halberd/swordmen

Not familiar with 4th/5th edition.  Someone else here might be familiar.

However, with 6th & 7th war machines were a good idea, the cannon often chosen over the mortar if being gamey.  The hellblaster can be good too.  I'd also consider adding to the pistolier unit.

Good set of metals.

Metal state troops might be hard to come by. They are very characterful though.

I know this isnít what you are asking, but I have some metal minis from that era that I am keen to part with / sell.
I will see what I have, but at a minimum I know I have the old metal pegasus and rider, and an old metal mortar emplacement.
