Update on my played games, as last time I posted I said a demo game would come up and it did and I even did a practice game before. And I played another game after! 3 games in almost a week time!

Steg's tally:

1x Silver Tower
5x 40k
1x AoS

Got in a play test of a new miniatures game called D-Day to Berlin.  It is a corp sized level game and it was challenging. I played Germans versus U.S. somewhere on the Rhine as the Americans push forward and the Germans defend some river crossings.

A good time, hope to get in another game of this soon, and I add it to my tally for the year ...

40k Kill Team ... 2
Temple of Elemental Evil (board game) ... 2
Dungeon! ... 1

Updated my list.

Played the first two Element Evil scenarios solo when my wife and daughter had an overnight Girl Scout thing last week. This week, my daughter wanted to play Dungeon! We've played the latter a handful of times now. I'm wondering if Elemental Evil will be a reasonable upgrade for her. She's only 8, but quite bright. And it's a co-op game. Suggested age is 14+.

Was going to play Kill Team with old friends again Friday, but had to work late.

I find that kids a bit younger than the recommended ages for a game can usually figure things out.

She did! And she took right too it, selecting the Ranger character, letting me tank through all the danger while she picked off the monsters with her bow and collected all the treasure. Not sure whether I should be upset by being out-played by my 8 year old daughter, or proud.  :-D

Next family game day will be escalated from Dungeon! to Temple of Elemental Evil.

Had a chance to GM a multi player Lion Rampant game for 6 new folks to miniature gaming. That was a great joy to see new people getting involved for the first time with this hobby.

Got in another play test game of D-Day to Berlin.  The author has changed it to using squares for movement, and I'm a bit disappointed with that.  Makes it seem like a board game, although it was fun.

Attended Fall-In! 2019 ...

One of the games I signed up for didn't go off on Friday morning, a new rules set called Flint and Feather I was really looking forward to giving a go.  Oh well, the GM was ill and couldn't make it till Saturday, and so this gave a bit more time for walking around.  Had a few moments to talk with a painter at the Hobby University area, and that was a great discussion and learning session.

My Friday night game was pike and shot via Carnage and Glory computerized rules with Swedes versus Poles and Cossacks where I played the Swede cavalry units that managed to hold off the Poles for a good while, but the Cossacks and Poles still achieved a Pyrrhic victory.

Saturday morning saw another C&G game with the American Civil War, my favorite game of the show.  This was a replication of the Battle of Mansfield in 1864.  Confederates won the real fight, us Unions in the game achieved a Pyrrhic victory.  It is always amazing to me how so many gamers don't know how to use civil war artillery when the infantry is such a dominate force on the fields of battle.  Since the artillery was usually attached at the corp level, it often would fight along side the infantry, sometimes being rolled right up to where the enemy was or would be so as to have the full force of the canister in action against the infantry.  A deadly process, and risky for the artillery, but it worked.  This time knowing my front line would eventually have to fall back, I positioned my artillery in such a spot where the confederates would then be coming, and boom!  Shredded one of their artillery units when limbered, and three infantry regiments as well.  Had to give up on battery of 4 pea shooters, but it was worth it to slow the enemy's advance, and give my troops a chance to re-position at the new defense line.

Saturday night was my 3rd and final game, again with C&G, this time early Napoleonic era in Italy.  I played with French/Italians versus Austrians, and we achieved a minor victory.  A fun scenario where the Austrians are attempting to take a small village with superior forces, fabulous scenery on the table, and some decent room for maneuvering too.  Another very good game.

Swordpoint/Saga ... 1
Thrust of Bayonets ... 1
KISS Rommel ... 1
Impetus 2nd Edition ... 1
Price of Glory ... 1
Carnage & Glory (7YW, PIke & Shot, ACW, Naps) ... 4
Great Northern War (someone's home rules) ... 1
Black Powder (someone's skirmish home rules) ... 2
D-Day to Berlin ... 2
Lion Rampant ... 1

Not a bad tally this year will probably get in some Lion Rampant in December, maybe something else too.  Would like to have a year where I can double this though.

Envious of above👆😸
Managed 0 games of anything except on my iPhone - War Machines. A tank warfare game. Lots of fun. Driving a C1 Ariete around at the moment. Love the ariete mostly because of its name and my fondness for the Italian Ariete Armoured Division of North African fame.

Will change the status above when the tables are made.

Played another game of Dungeon! With my daughter. Will try to upload the post-game gloating pics soon. She kicked my ass! She learned the trick of swooping in after I've been beaten by a monster, beating the monster herself, and collecting all the dropped treasure. The little sneak beat me 30,500 gold to 500!  :icon_biggrin:

Played a Seven Years War game using the new Perry rules for quick play Napoleonics.  Probably needs a bit of modification, but it gave a decent and quick game.

Also, got in two more Lion Rampant games ...

GP's Ongoing Tally Of Games for 2019
Swordpoint/Saga ... 1
Thrust of Bayonets ... 1
KISS Rommel ... 1
Impetus 2nd Edition ... 1
Price of Glory ... 1
Carnage & Glory (7YW, Pike & Shot, ACW, Naps) ... 4
Great Northern War (someone's home rules) ... 1
Black Powder (someone's skirmish home rules) ... 2
D-Day to Berlin ... 2
Lion Rampant ... 3
Perry quick play rules for 7YW ... 1

I'm happy with my tally this year, yet would still like to have a stronger year in 2020.

My miniature games tally for this year:
3 x Warhammer Fantasy 6th ed (2 skirmish)
2 x Kings of War
1 x Warlords of Erehwon
2 x fantasy adventure game with kids (kinda WHF skirmish)

Less than I thought or planned for, but that's life.

My miniatures have seen a lot more use, but in plays with kids, not in games. Especially my elder daughter has been increasingly involved in the hobby, building, painting, playing and even creating backstories for our fantasy adventures.  :-)

With the holiday season upon us, I'm going to try to get in some more miniature gaming.  Intend to try out two new board games as well, although such will not be added to my tally here.  Maybe a new thread ...

Haven’t even painted a model in the last year. Hope to change this trend very shortly.
