The basic idea is to have a unit that is too big to fail - either because it's too hard to fight due to stats, magic or banners, or just has enormous static combat resolution.
If the unit is big enough, it basically guarantees you can't lose the game, only draw, so long as the unit survives.

You can kinda deathstar with empire. Kinda....

Take griffon banner + warbanner + a ws4 unit + ulric priest + illusion wizard all in one unit.

Deathstars are best done with core so that leaves veteran state troops or core knights. Probably better with core knights. Probably core gw knights for sustained damage. Lots of characters to soak challenges.

Idea would be unhittable with good static combat res.  -1 to hit from glittering robe cast could be power scrolled. Reroll 6's to be hit with winter's chill prayer. Probably take two ulric priests in the unit to make winters school more reliable.

So against most unit types they would swing at you on 4's now 5's because glittering robe and they have to reroll 6's to hit.
