Hello all, short time lurker first time posting on this forum so here goes. Recently got back into warhammer fantasy, and decided to pick up the Empire Brigade boxset to add to the few models I had, I've chosen to do a Middenheim army. So will post my progress as I work through them, they are already stuck together with some slight conversions to some but not all the massed troops(simple to much work), so more of a painting blog which is strange for me as I have a vast sea of unpainted plastic from 40k.

I'll sart with my version of Luthor Huss, as I feel like the GW one doesnt do him any justice. So after being inspired by the picutre of him in the Empire codex, I got some bits together and started making him. Few details left to do(waiting on parts), but basicaly finished.

Let me know what you think,

Cheers.

Great conversion. I want make a mounted warrior priest like this one. :eusa_clap:

Great conversion.  Definetely more dynamic than the standard version.  Can't wait to see it painted.  Since your converting skill is good, I imagine you can paint quite good as well.

Cheers guys :::cheers:::, it does have a little more presence than the GW one, agreed. I tried to follow the pic as much as possible, but added some little things here and there. Just waiting on some parts to come, like a noose for hanging heritics and stuff. Once thats on the will paint him up. My paintings alright, but then I'm my own worst critic.

Sweet priest! Where is that hammer from again? I see it more often, but can't recall which kit it is from.. Is it from a building maybe? Great job on the details, such as thigh armour, the bedroll, the hood, the small sword/dagger etc.

Would love to see this guy painted!

Eberious

Thanks again, will paint him soon. Still waiting on parts, been dispatched today. Trying to finish off a greatsword at the moment. I really want to paint him like 2 days ago, but must wait till modelling finished.  :icon_cry:

@stareso , thanks and the hammer is not from a kit per say. The hammer head is off the empire general standard top, the mid section is from the generals hammer the part beteen the hammer head and the handle shaft and the arm and handle shaft is a chaos maruader cav warrior's arm with the axe head cut off. Needed somthing with muscle and showing it. Worked great.  I didn't even relise it until my mate pointed it out but the hammer looks a lot like Ghal Maraz, but with spikes and minus the runes.

stareso

Ah, thanks for the answer. We wants more Middenheimers!

Eberious

Hello, finaly getting around to finishing Luthor. Thought I'd give a little update.

I decided to do some magic happening. A few little mistakes and unfinished details.

Interesting effect. :icon_cool:

I like the grim look from the totality of the painting. :eusa_clap: :::cheers:::

Thanks,  the yellow isnt so intense in real life, just the camera picks it up really well. Might try to tone down the yellow.

GamesPoet

I'm not sure, but it might just be the flash of the camera, and not sure if the yellow really needs toning down, yet curious as to how you'd do such?

Yeah the cflash really picks it up. did some toning down today will probably carry on when I get home from work. It is bright on his chest area keeping in mind he has a amulet that is also light up as if hes reciting the prayers of sigmar. Like the vid of warhammer online off youtube when the warrior preist is about to fight the khrone blood thirster type thingy.
