Help identifying a model
« on: June 24, 2003, 07:37:34 AM »
I recently won about 8 old metal 'Empire' figures on Ebay to add a bit of variety to my rank and file. In amongst them is a greast looking mage (on tag) I wonder if anyone could tell me exactly who he is.

It's a bad start that I dont have a camera handy this morning but I'm sure this description will help.

Most importantly he's holding quite a short staff in his right hand which has a very small plump dragon on top.
He is wearing spectacles and has a beard which is platted and hangs down to his chest.
He is wearing an unusual hat that looks something like a tapered top hat.
He has a very large collar sticking up to the rear and is wearing a pretty typical long cloak.

His foot tag dates 1989 (not very clear)

I'm hoping I can use him as a Bright Wizard.

Thanks
Alex

I know just the wizard you mean - top left corner on this picture (wand 2):

This guy is just a generic empire wizard from long ago, though I think he might have originally come from the '074031 Imperial General's Retinue' set.

Anyway, it's a very nice model (I nearly bid on that ebay lot myself!) that would be fine for a bright, gold or celestial wizard.
Hey, I could still beat up a woman!
If I wanted to.

Isn't it funny that you of all people on the forum should help identify this model, which you did 100% correctly by the way, because, and I hope you dont mind, in the last few games I've called my bright wizard Rufus Sparkfire :-)

Thanks

You will soon find out how your namesake and the rest of the army fared as I'm just finishing off the  last battle report.

Be warned there are a few familiar names on the roster!
