Title: Monthly painting Contest : December announcement !

The assignment for December is : Imperial General.

Mind you, this could be an Arch Lector, Grand Master or even a wizard.
Important thing is that it's clear that he leads an army, so that must show from his pose or attire.

I disagree , Fbjorn, Kirgan  and Darknight had better works than Cjp. This judge of yours must be blind. :roll:

Thanks for the kind words and congrats. I'm really proud to win this one with this figure. Some other things I've done well with were definitely flashier, but in some  ways I think this is better work then a lot of my other things of late.

Its subtle, but I think my work here is stronger, despite the lack of freehand etc. It doesn't help that the figure is older and more static, less dramatic and fiddly than a lot of newer sculpts out there; anyway, it means a lot for my general to get the nod. Thanks.

I'm super glad there was such a good turn out for this category. The general and the std bearer were both exciting to watch, thanks to all the entries, and the variety especially. Its great to see people's enthusiasm come through in their unique approaches to things.   Fbjorn- your Genaralitrix was pretty fun, despite the sort of scary sculpting on her face... you're not to blame for that anyway. ;) I think you handled it well.  Kirgan- yours really took me by surprise, being a chaos general but regardless,  the moody pastels and washes really looked great on the figure. Solid stuff! 

Great entries all, and I hope to see such wide variety in the wizards pool!

I do agree with the judges.
It is a painting competition after all and your painting standard and color composition is superb. And I love those old minis.
