As a moderator of the Wolf's Lair, I had better of selected CoU. I was a long time player of CoU, I even played CoU lists prior to WD 279. I'm still very unhappy with how Ulric was treated with the NEB. I've stayed away from the empire until now, where I'll play my Teutogen Haus Krannest, a family house in Southern Middenland.

The Imperial Army I'm counting on playing is from Talabecland... something about its colours... hmmm... Canadian perhaps ;), nah I have just always liked the whole Red and White look... it really speaks "For Sigmar! For the Empire!" to me...

I'm reading through your army book... I never knew all the other armies had a serious lack of knights... but... then... how do you win? :P (Bah dum dum tsh horrible bretonnian Joke)

Hochland!

I do not bargain with weak southerners or rustic stirlanders: we are the true power in the north; not Middenheim, but Hochland!  :engel:

It has to be said:

This. Is. Hochland.

Hmm. My army's fairly standard, except with a few more flaggelants than normal and no knights. Depending on your definition of standard, of course.

My colour scheme is very dark, and uses a lot of inks, which certainly helps to reduce the 'christmas' effect ...

Well, I want to move my vote from Stirland to Middenland!

I am commited to the woods of the North, crushing beasts and undead with the might of Sigmar and the fury of Ulric!
Oh, and remember GW made it personal, not you!

Middenheim and Nuln. Their colors just looked good over the battlefield.

My new army based on the Empire Army Book, is going to be a force made up of fighting men from many provinces, most are Empire-born men, but some, like Monsieur Armand, are from beyond the Empire's borders.

The Army of Mericaath (That's 'America' in Fantasy speak  ) is from an independent realm in the New World, but has heritage from Nuln, Hochland, and even a few people came from Bretonnia.

And live once more under the tyrannical rule of a product of a flawed system?  We have fought for our independence and will sustain it.  :closed-eyes: Perhaps one day we shall have a bit more territory and be a rightful country in the Old Worlde. Me thinks that democracy and a rich independent city state is better than a province that can not even keep their countess within their own borders.  (Eh Wissenland?  Emmanuelle, with all due respect, I belive you are spending too much time in Nuln, and not enough time listening to the cries of your people.)

That was a perfectly legitimate bargain struck with the your rightfully elected leader. And we have indeed beaten back all reclamation attempts with our own steel, and our own gunpowder.

And our own mercenaries...

You seem to forget... we are not imperial!  :-D
We broke off in 1776 Imperial Calendar, long before you guys bargained with the Emperor for your independence.
For Mericaathian Calendar, subtract 653 from the Imperial Calendar date. I'll leave you guessing for why it is that way...  :icon_cool:

Nope.
I'll tell you...
This sounds stupid, but it's honestly the best reason I could think of. We believe that Sigmar lived to a great age before actually passing on.  :icon_cool:

Originally my Empire army was painted in the scheme of Middenland. But as time went by I couldnt go past the  outrageousness of the Talabecland scheme. Bright Yellow and red, that and the artwork in the new Rulebook looks spectacular, so  the repainting crusade began and now they are all YELLOW AND RED!!

Having just read some background material on this site that I haven't read before, I have become an Averland convert, and this will be my main army when I get around to painting it.  In addition to Averland, I also voted for Stirland, since I may have some Stirland allies in my Averland force for some games; as I play against Vampire Counts quite a bit, and it would make sense for the two forces to ally themselves to battle against those Lords of the Night.

I put Averland & Wissenland down but really its Solland (I started playing a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away when 2nd ed was out) since thats where I chose to have my first army, liked the name is all :D

I am slowly putting together a Marienberg/Pirate force, but not using GW figs.

Hopefully, one day GW will realise how cool Marienberg is and also realise that spears are naff and the way ahead is pike with detachments!
We go to gain a little patch of ground that hath in it no profit but the name.
