Funky Little Plastic Romans
katzbalger:
Anybody checked this out yet?

It's a new company started up by John Stallard and Paul Sawyer, two MASSIVELY sad losses to GW. They're kicking off with 28mm plastic Romans (I've got one - they're quite little, but the way I understand it the average Legionnary stood only about 5'4" tall) and following them up with Celts. They're priced at £17 for 30 little Legionnaries, plus a pound for postage and packaging. You get command figures in the box and there are two more plastic boxes on the way, plus a supporting range of metals.
I for one am hugely excited, and might just have to start up my own Reman Legion :icon_biggrin:. I've always had fluff issues with big blocks of swordsmen in an Empire army, while fully understanding why people take them. Here's the perfect excuse - Hurrah!
Midaski:
They were at Salute the other Saturday, and they were giving away a single Roman on the sprue if you signed up with your email address ................
Mine is on my worktable and I haven't glued it up yet.

I feel sorry for all the carefully made "Remans" now

I think we saw these back here:

But I still don't like their heads. The bodies are fine though.
EDIT: I just looked, the prices are horrid! 75 pounds for 30 legionaires?

Ah thanks rufus! I opened the 75 pound one and only saw the "30 man unit" portion, thinking that the 5 boxes must have had like 6 guys in each one! Sorry, it has been a long day.
So 75 pounds for 150 models is actually really good. I still don't like the heads, and I do not need more troops, but had I seen this, I might have gone with these little guys.
