At Warlord Games we’ve always said that we will would tackle new periods that have a strong flavour for gamers all around the world. In all sorts of surveys and polls that we have seen the English Civil Wars and the Thirty Years War have been right up there on people’s wish list, and that’s certainly the case with us too!

"Oh, my God!" (That's an even more subtle reference for you Philly.)

Minis look good, if only someone were to produce alternative plastic landsknechts...

Here I am thinking they've made plastic wrestling miniatures.

Great, I'm no longer a jobber. Someday I'll become a mid-carder, just like you Philly.

So close. Only 100 years less now and we're there!

I'm not fond of the Celts. Those ECW/30YW figures look better, though it helps that they've got a more uniform & less dynamic pose. Too bad I'm note really interested in that period.

I just wish someone would make some plastic hundred years war.

Well, I think there is a fair chance hundred years war minis will appear, Zero. It is a big period for gamers after all.
Most likely we are talking about different series, like early and late 100-years war, because the fashion shifted a lot between late 14th century and early 15th century.

Just thought I'd dig the Perry Twins Napoleonic thread up.

Wargames Factory were talking about plastic 100 Years War French and English, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what they do.

But I guess it will be quite high on the list for one manufacturer or other to do.

Well, sort of. Isn't that sort of late for landsknechts?

Besides, I've still got a stockpile of the old plastic Empire figures in the basement.

@ Mathi: Yes, I'm hoping for late war. I'd take either, but I'm more of a 15th century fan.  :-)

@ Donnachaidh: I've heard that rumor, but considering they still haven't sent out the initial figures they'd announced (I've got two boxes of Celts pre-ordered) and they've popped up with the surprise colonial Brits, who knows if/when we'll ever see them.  :|

Still, I know there are a lot of ECW & 30YW fans, so it's good to see them get some figures too.

Well, I´d rather have pre-hundreds years war, say 1250-1325, the period I am re-enacting. Before the Black death. I also have a hard time with those 15th century men in tights! They are not my thing, so to say. but they would work with GW:s new Empire deal about men in tights.

Funny thing... I just got an email regarding some rumors of future Wargames Factory HYW figures. Again, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

@ Mathi: Insecure?  :-P

No, it is just that all the ladies would be running after me all day long... I like to be left in peace when I am not interested see..  :icon_razz:

But most of all, my legs are not very nice. I prefer longer tunics. However, my iron age trousers fits pretty tight! But then, Iron age is more... manly! 15th century jackets tend to look so... foopish. But Iron age. You know there are find of some tight fitting leather breeches from some bog, iron age date, probably riding breeches. Might look good in that...

have to say that they do not give me confidence with their constant delays and the random nature of the Colonial British (but how would they look with a las gun?)

I have a greater hankering for Marian reform Romans over EIR, so I am looking forward to see what their figures are like.

I'm also not too find of Warlord Games celts, so again I may give Wargames Factory presidence over them if they ever come out.

I agree. I plan on doing HYW eventually anyway. Decent plastics would encourage that. The bonus would be that I would plan on having them serve double-duty, and use them in a WFB Bretonnian army.

Especially 14th century HYW. They would fit hand in glove with Bretonnia!
