I like Daleks.

I hate Dr Who.
I thought he should act responsibly and just kill himself.

Did you find some of the old GW plastics?

Were the Dalek minis the first plastics GW ever did? If Orks still had rules for Tin Boyz and Runtbots, that's what I'd use them for. Or garbage receptacles for Necromunda streets...

Sorry, No pics, just this listing: http://www.solegends.com/citdrwho/index.htm

I'd say Daleks would be at the same power level as Terminators, so an army of Terminators, led by a terminator lord?

Its Kaled spelt backwards, the Kaleds were the creators of the Daleks, used as the final weapon in a genocidal war that lasted millenia

Its Kaled spelt backwards

Also a made-up word.

Not to mention that 'dalek' backwards is 'kelad.'

I meant the connection between Marines and Daleks as an army term.  Like Fisheads and such.

I thought this was about which 40K list would be the best to represent daleks.

Ahhh I get it.  I thought this was one of those stupid nicknames for an army.  Okay.

NEcrons.

I was just looking at the Darleks that black tree makes and thinking... damn, if I made my own it shure would be easy to mould them in mass. And they would be easy to sculpt. They could be made into resin pour-moulds!

I originaly was thinking necrons, but there are other armies. I was thinking deathwing. (All termies, it would make em a bit more indestructable, give them teleport and lower the model count.) Plus the larger bases would be nice for modeling, a nice monotone unit type and a chance to model some specialists.  (17 models would equal a 1,000pt-ish force)

But past deathwing I cant really think of many armies that would have a similar apeal. Most other ideas relly on having some kind of non-darlek in the force. Just does not seem right.... So no other thoughts?

(Plus, necrons are cybermen... even their unit-types are similar.)

Don't do Deathwing. If you do, I will be forced to find, castrate, and de-codpiece you.

Daleks are much closer to Necrons anyway.  Not to mention, I disagree that terminators are that much tougher.  Necrons get the 3+ AS AND still get back up after falling.  Terminators get a 2+ OR their 5+ invulnerable.

Necrons are more suited, but I think he has a point with the Deathwing for all the reasons he stated. Teleport, fewer models to convert, more homogeneous army, hard as hell. Too bad the Dark Angels don't get the 3+ save storm shields that are in the new SM codex.

Actaully GW has stated that in fairness to the alternate Marine codexes, changes to item rules which appear in other armies should be honored, almost like a giant errata.  Stormshields are a good example.  Changes to stats are also potential areas to add (the WS6 for commanders for example).

Space Marines also can't go up stairs.
