On the way home today, i laughed hard. Some dimwit, plus-size land whale had parked her car in a taxi zone just as a police car rounded the corner

While in Brussels my wife visited the Warhammer store and got me a little something. Apparently its an exclusive for Adepticon 2019. It looks great and I love the leather tabard and the helmet tucked under his arm!

The nude dudes in Hawaii?

I saw a fun tier list for live action Star Trek show characters. Thought it was fun I haven't seen Picard or Discovery yet so I didn't include those characters:

My wife and I are getting our first shot of vaccine tomorrow.  :icon_smile:
It's been a rough year and with me finally breaking down from exhaustion and stress in mid April caused a lot of economic problems, but now I feel like myself again, haven't been exhausted or dizzy, can follow in conversations, don't have to sleep during the day, heck I was even bored some evenings ago!

Looking at life more positive now and feeling a inner peace again, I'm back on track! Currently buying cheap army books (for 6th and 7th) and trading/buying some cheap minis and hope to run some warhammer 40k and fantasy demo games, somehow. Got a deal for 2 sets of skull pass dwarves pending, some orcs and orks coming in. Painted terrain for warcry and space marines later this month. Just not buying everything at once to spread out costs.

Got some introdecks for Magic the Gathering sleeved up and ready to go too.

Hoping for a autumn with magic tournaments, warhammer and not as much stress and anxiety as this past year.

Feeling pretty down concerning the years Canada day. The finding of over a thousand unmarked graves of indigenous children from the residential schools is a pretty black mark on Canada.
I don’t think even the American blacks were so systematically destroyed as the First Nations here. Genocide is not a crazy term for what went on. That number comes from only 3 sites out of hundreds across Canada. The generational and cultural trauma inflicted on the nations is a hard thing to stomach. When the truth  and reconciliation council resigned a few years back because the reality was so horrible they couldn’t handle the endless lineup of personal histories were being heard. Until now, when the evidence is so stark as to be unavoidable, we collectively made the attempt to look away.
We have a lot to be proud of but we also must face this truth.

Every country has skeletons in the closet, so to speak, no pun intended.

I remember going to port Arthur in early '98. There was something eerie about the whole place

Indeed all countries have skeletons, from waging wars, politics, treatment of other humans etc.
In Sweden scientist performed experiment on  intellectually disabled in 1945–1955. They were given special toffee
to se how teeths were effected by sugar. From the results came a new term "Lördagsgodis" (Saturday candy/sweets). I always feel a bit ashamed of the origins of the term when I tell my son to only have candy on saturdays.

Anyways, I went with my son and wife on a short 3 day car trip. We visited Borås, a town in Sweden we used to live in. Saw my old workplace being renovated, went to the apartment where we lived and the zoo. Ate a lot of good food and just had a nice break from ordinary family life at home.  When we moved from Borås we didn't know my wife was pregnant, so felt special to revisit with our son.

I forgot to mention the moronic ghost story.
The friend i was with spotted the room which the reinactors used to store their costumes. He spotted a redcoat costume and was CONVINCED it was Napoleons ghost.
Boney died in 1821. Port Arthur was built in the 1830's. Surely Wellingtons estate would have been more appealing to Napoleons spirit than a penal colony. :biggriin:

nice deal!  :::cheers:::

Wanted to buy the dwarf army book for 8th edition of facebook but people wanted silly amounts for it. Waited a few days and a guy just wanted to give his copy to me since he don't play fantasy. He payed for postage and just wanted me to do something nice for someone else. So I contacted another guy and sent him 10 6th metal blackguards (command included), a kitbashed bsb and some other cool bits. He had some skull pass miners to spare so got those in return. A trade but to his gain. I actually even put stamps in the box that I had spare. Hope to have the book by monday.   :-D

I've picked up a fair bit of knowledge about the old Star Wars toys since I've been selling toys online. Today I met a plumber who told me he owned a rocket firing Boba Fett.
I had a good laugh. Sorry if this is too niche

I just got offered a faculty position as the Director of the Intellectual Property Clinic at the Penn State Law School. If I accept (I will), I will be tasked with coordinating economic development agencies with the Penn State campuses across Pennsylvania in addition to teaching students to be IP lawyers and other intellectual property classes. Big bonus: I get to keep my law firm on the side letting my staff keep their jobs and me to have a second salary which is great as my kids are getting to be college age and any extra resource to make that easier is most welcome. :happy:

Got out for a small town ballroom dance this evening.  Just a couple of hours, and first time dancing in 26 months.  What a joy!

It was a bit rough at first, lot's of rust to shake off.  When I got going a good bit, things really started to happen.

Having picked a small place with few people, I figured it was far less risky than going into Boston.

I brought a cake for Easter, along with utensils and such, plus wine and ginger ale.

A good time! :icon_biggrin: :::cheers:::
