I am planning to start a new Empire army with the new edition. However, due to the altered timeline, I am uncertain about the heraldry and colors that are relevant in this timeframe. The provinces appear to be different, with the exception of Reikland and Talabheim. Perhaps some of you who are well-versed in the lore can provide more information on this subject.

cheers

There's still quite a bit unknown regarding the Empire's provinces for Warhammer: The Old World.

However, here is a link t0 a topic on what seems to be known currently ...

As GamesPoet says, much remains unknown, and there may still be changes, before TOW is actually released,  but here is a map which shows the coats of arms of the different provinces:

It is not enough to have no ideas of your own; you must also be incapable of expressing them.

The resolution is not very good, but almost all provinces have retained their coats of arms in some form as we knew them, including the later defunct provinces of Sudenland (Solland) and Sylvania. Note that Sigismund of Osterland (rather than Ostland) uses the CoA of Middenheim. The shield of Talabec(land) has now the tinctures gold and vert, and I guess a depiction of Taal as charge, instead of the eagle. Westerland has an slightly different version of the Marienburg CoA. Nordland and Hochland do not seem to exist as separate provinces.

I forgot to ask: which province(s) would you be interested in?

To be honest; I like most of them. Ideally, I would like to use a color scheme that is usable for all time periods. But if they come up with something really cool looking, but only applicable to that time, I still would be open to that. Before they killed WFB, I was planning on creating an Ostland army. There was one on this forum that was breathtaking. Maybe someone remembers. Other than that, if Sylvania is a "normal" province at that time, I could see myself diving into that. However, the Empire has so much to offer in terms of colors and aesthetics, I could up ending anywhere :)

It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I'm looking forward to the return of the Old World.  Not that it was really ever gone, just not being supported by GW for awhile.  The idea that they are bringing it back, even in a different time frame than before is great, although I'll stil consider that the End of Times crud never really happened.

I won't be repainting my WFB Empire units.  I mostly have black & yellow of Averland, although also some blue and orange that I use for Matorea, and a smattering of others just for the heck of it.

I can’t recall who did it, but I assume you mean the one with the red bull with black / white quartered shields?
