Indeed.  Thanks for the clarification, I didn't do the greatest job on that.  I just thought it very interesting that they mentioned it after so much time, even though it was in name only.  Sort of a regional nick name, sort of.

Although dpending on the outcome of the campaign, we may see the Empire reclaiming lost borders....

Careful there Jerok, that would require a major change of stance by GW. They already said that nothing would happen time line wise.

Well that would be really confusing just as we re-take Solland having Sudenland suddenly (no pun intended) turn up again!

Well, as Jerok stated.  It's only a sudo name that local nobles refer to that region as Sudenland.  It's nothing major, just the first time it's been uttered in years.

Excuse me more asking a possibly useless question, yet here I go.

I have been enamoured with our Colony Sudenburg in the Southlands since I got into the hobby, of course I have been able to find F* all about it fluff wise.

Could there be some connection between Sudenburg and Solland/Sudenland?  Or just a naming coincidence?

My educated guess would be a naming similarity, nothing more.  Maybe some novel somewhere has some information about a link, but I don't read the novels, so not totally sure.

Oh man my browser ate my post...

To make it short: "suden" is most likely an older version of todays German "Süden", meaning "south". Notice anything?
