Electoral votes
« on: February 25, 2013, 10:27:57 PM »
There was some confusion over how the election would work last turn due to the election rules being interpreted differently. As such we have worded it differently and present it here for announcement.

Quote
Each of the twenty-eight electors has one vote, and all votes are equal. The election must be held on midwinter’s day, in the electoral assembly hall in the city of Middenheim. Electors must be present in person in order to vote, and at least twenty electors in total must be present for the election to proceed. Votes must be cast for a primary elector. Abstention is not allowed. The candidate with the most votes wins, though they must have at least ten votes in total for the result to be considered viable. The Ar-Ulric is able to overrule some of these conditions if the circumstances make it necessary, and has the casting vote in the event of a tie.

As you can see we have changed the rules slightly to incorporate both approaches. For those Catholics or Pope enthusiasts you may notice that it is similar to the way in which a Pope is elected.

When the election time arrives the players will be asked to give their votes (and NPC's too). These votes are then added up behind a candidate and should an elector get the most votes they win. However they must receive the minimum of 10 votes. Should no candidate get 10 votes then the vote will be re-taken until one candidate gets at least 10 votes. If they fail then it will be retaken again until 10 are received.

A much easier read!

One question though: does this mean we have to plan our movements to get our lords and other NPC's to the capital by a certain turn?
them are some stupid and ugly ass pieces. Griffons without wings? Sure as hell ain't touching my army.

Why do players need to cast their vote? They're not electors, are they?
