I don't actually have the verbal version (only happens with about 5 or 10%). It is the most well known version because it is marginally humorous.

Is it wrong to push someone with tourettes down the stairs, film it, and call it comedy?

I'm pretty sure I've actually seen that done on a comedy show.

Edit: And I think it happened on one of the Big Brothers.

There is a website called Tourettes Guy or something. It is funny, but not because he affects Tourettic manerisms. It would be funnier if it was just "crazy neckbrace guy" since there is little mining of the Tourettes joke theme.

I've only been here like 7 months, what do you expect.

I'd actually quite like to meet someone with Tourettes without knowing they had it, the years of psychology interviews i've done have made me quite good at noticing regular ones anyway.(Lieing etc) I'm curious as to just how obvious they are.

Oh any concerted observation will turn them up very rapidly. They are different for everyone, but mine are quite distinct. I blink my eyes differently at times, I feel the need to crack my neck, and most obviously and infuriatingly, I click my teeth together. At times it can be quite hard, enough so that it hurts.

It is a rather irritating condition, but the weirdest thing is when I try not to do them. It is like holding your breath, the longer you do it the harder you breath when you finally allow yourself to do so. The ticks are the same. There is alot of obsesive compulsiveness to it as well.

Hey Philly, I now about that "holding your breath" feeling. As an Aspie/ADHD, I got some ticks aswell. Some are hidden beneath general ADHD restlessness, but there are some. Like the itching feeling that makes me wanna pull out some hair from my beard, that I always prefer to sit in lotus/tailor stance. I have a hard time sitting still with both feets on the floor, it is so VERY uncomfortable.

I can´t help fiddling with my pockets, opening and closing zippos, button or unbutton (thank God that it is pockets we are talking about and not other stuff). Also, I have a certain pose I tend to get into that just gives my wife the creeps!
