My Dad's frend mentioned he and many people in their 70's have just dusted off their 80's Heman Toys, in mint condition, and given them to their Grandchildren ,

the tide of 4 year olds joining the Age of Wankmar games is growing,

you get one Dice , with 2 sides, which you roll and it either lands on Killed or Alive,

the games take 30 seconds, but the mess is insane

David from STockport commented ,

'' I went and bought the new AOS boxset from my local GW store.. I was surprised to see they had copied the entire 1982 Heman toy range , down to the exact poses. Even Ram Man can be seen in the Khorne models. So I thought, hey why not just use my Heman toys collection. So I dusted them off and got out castle greyskull, and invited round the local nursery school, 130 children , supervised by 50 staff. We had 2000 heman models and played for 20 seconds , it was great''

John from Staines commented ..

'' Yeah I got the new AOS boxset, opened it up and realised it was what I always dreamt off, Thundercats vs Heman, even the round bases made it authentic. I told my wife I was going away for 5 weeks, and hid in the garage in secret , playing with my Heman Toys whilst drinking milk shake''

Just let him vent. :closed-eyes:

(But yeah, 8th and we don't have to buy anything since the rules are free and our models are still valid).

And the models in the starter box are actually REALLY NICE.

I just can't emphasize this enough. Until you have seen them and held them, hold off judgment. The rank-and-file Stormcast Eternals aren't the best of them - but the winged dudes and the guy on the Dracon are sweet. And the Chaos stuff is just awesome.

Shhh! I don't think that's helping the situation.

If they did her in 28mm (or in 5'10" and I was Pygmalion) I'd totally have an army of her. Chick's badass.

Chumley has about a billion models for 8th and plays massive battles -- i don't think anything you say about AoS is going to sway him.

God, I'd hate to see him trying to play one of his massive battles in this skirmish game -- the horror. It'd take hours to move his units.

Bases don't matter right? Just put them on a movement tray.

My mate just e mailed me , he said the models are bigger than 40K Terminators..

I don't get any of it

If it sells and makes GW a fortune then I understand,

but I am confused, who would want to play this rubbish

As you mock it here? No-one. But, then again, one could say the same about anything if it is mocked.

The game as it actually exists? With the models released? Quite a lot of people, it seems.

In the short term, lots of people because it's GW. Free rules helped too, (of course I remember better rules as throwaway games in WD). In the long term, probably not as many as GW hopes. But there will still be tons who do, because it's GW. You wouldn't believe how hard people are already working on some sort of system to make it a balanced game. I don't understand why they want to do that, when they could just pick a game that already works the way they want. Only GW would get that kind of a pass.

If people want to play it as is (or close) that's fine. I don't see the appeal (beyond games with the kids) and I suspect it will wear off fast.
