Still on Octarius Ork Terrain. Tonight is the big weathering pass which is so much fun! This set has been a chore but I learned a lot while doing it. I am amazed with the amount of good instruction you can find on youtube and other painting sources. It's very motivating and has me testing some of the techniques.  Ork Terrain is perfect for this because it's so forgiving with mistakes and I made a few here and there..

I also discovered the wonder of Monument Pro Acryl Paints. The quality of it clearly rivals anything from GW for 25% less cost and nearly double the volume. They even include a mixing ball in each pot.  Speaking of the pots, they seal so well, and the dropper makes it so easy to use, from dropping to a palette or an airbrush. If you're within reach of shipping, I can't recommend these enough. I went ahead and purchased the entire line which was a bit wasteful considering all the GW and Vallejo I currently have.

Sounds great!  And I agree, Ork terrain is very forgiving.  Hopefully not so forgiving that they get womped by the nasty McEvil Space McDudes.

I just put a clear coat on a few models this morning, meaning my January list is done. In February, I want to paint a mounted Wight King, mounted Necromancer, and 5 Black Knights. Maybe a few odds and ends too.

Log for February: finish my Luna Wolves and make fun of GP.

I have deliberately held off painting for awhile, but are still working on some models here and there. I am currently going through a part-purge/part-reorg of my hobby stuff and much of it has been organizing. I have had some projects that I realistically knew I wouldn't get to for some time, but was just happy to have them for when I got around for them, only to discover while going through them that I did not have all that I needed. So have had to fill in some important gaps, like bases. I had no idea I was so short, and have no idea what I was going to do years from now when I sat to work on them and wouldn't have all that I needed.

I am hoping that when things get settled, that I start with my Rogue Trader models, and start painting my WFB 4th edition armies, and work my way up to the most recent editions.

So essentially I want to paint up everything I bought for WFB 4th, then move to what I got for WFB 5th. In some cases, I have assembled a lot of stuff for the later editions, but I decided it would be fun to go back to the earliest point that I can and work my way up.

Mostly this involves painting the core of what came in each starter, with whatever else I bought to expand on those starter armies. In the case of WFB 4th as I have shown, its what is to mostly support the scenario in the starter, but for something like 40k 4th, its all the units that were included in The Battle Rages On.

I know this is going to take a long time but I am really excited about this. I am being honest though, I see a distraction when my Imperium subscription starts arriving, but besides that I do not really see anything else on the horizon I want, so I should be able to focus on what I do have.

Seems like a decent plan.  If I recall, there's a thread around here where updates on your project have been being provided.  Keep up the good effort, and keep  us posted. :icon_cool: :::cheers:::

Painted the other 12 handgunners. Finally got the parts for the wolf kin and built them, just need to basecoat them as soon as it gets warm so i can paint them up.  They look pretty good with the plastic flagellant bodies and white wolf heads and arms.

Once again I’ve done better than expected this month and the two items are painted for the local GW shop competition. Just got to photo and enter them.

I’ve also done well on the remaining bits of my Apatoa Pahure Pioneers. Hope to have these finished so that I can included them as part of the competition’s display base to be shown in March.

Octarius Ork Terrain.  Weathering + Rust Pass nearly done.

Cleanup and highlights then I'm done.  I can't wait.  I'm in the "I hate these models" phase at this point.
