I built up my Middenheim army up way back in 4th & 5th ed. a long time before CoU and AoM list came out so I have no 6th ed. Middenheim specific miniatures apart from my KotWW.

Sorry about the blurry pic. I'm hoping to start a painting log at some point as I invest in some new characters and troops to bring my Middenheimers up to date (7th ed. that is).

I play a Sigmarite Middenheim army. "von Arenhart's Brigade".
Johannes von Arenhart may be a Middenheimer by birth but started his military career in the Pistolier Corps of Altdorf.
When he several years later returned to serve the army of Middenheim he was fully influenced by the religion and tactics of the southern Empire. As a result only the blue and white uniforms of his troops bears any resemblance to the Ulrican majority of Middenheims forces. From time to time Altdorf infantry batallions and knightly orders such as the Reiksguard and Blazing Sun reinforce the brigade.
But above all we fight 'em with our faith in Fanatics!

Hello everyone~

I am a empire newbie.
I want to build one empire army of middleheim according his history and so on.
Can you tell me more about army of middleheim?
For example how can I build the model of warrior of Ulric,wolf-kin and hunting hound?
And in 7th empire rules, the rule of cult of ulric and middenland is legal or not?

Thank you for all comments~~

Firstly, welcome to the forum.

Secondly, I don't think the 7th edition uses the old specialist armies from the storm of chaos but I'm sure you can use them if you play anyone with half a brain who just wants to have fun and not win at all costs (damn dwarfs). I would stick to the normal empire army book but make it suit ulrican themes e.g. use Ulrican priest models, archers and huntsmen (convert with white wolf heads and capes), very little blackpowder, militia, White wolf knights and so forth. The history of Midenheim can be foud of the UK GW website here's a link http://uk.games-workshop.com/empire/cult-of-ulric/1/. You could still convert the wol kin and hunting hounds hmm mabye use green stuff to make wolf furs for the kin or use the bearmen models and paint them differantly, you could use them as flaggies. As for the hounds you could buy a mordheim one for £2.50 from a witch hunter warband, here's a link to the online store for it http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=99111102015&orignav=300808. For captains I reccomend Mordheim Middenlander captains and youngbloods here's a link to them http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=List_Models&code=301092&orignav=300808. I hope the advice I give you will help ad good luck just ask me if you have any questions on what I said.

There is an article on the main GW Empire site that talks about how you can make interesting detachments.

http://us.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/empire/painting/soldiers/command/2.htm

This link goes to one about making a witch hunter army, but it uses some of the same minis that you have been thinking about.  It uses a lot of the Midhiem stuff to help give you flavor.

Hope that helps!

Welcome to the forum Sephi.   Let me by you a drink.  :::cheers::: Bartender, on Midaski's tab.

A couple of suggestions.  For greatswords ignore the standard ones an order the Teutogen Guard.  They are some of the best Empire figures GW ever did.  Of course you use them as standard Greatswords, but they look better.  When building your knight units make liberal use of the White Wolf spruce.   Even if you equip them with lances make them look like White Wolves.  Consider getting Kislev Kossars to mix in with your free company.

None of this brings back the old rules, but your army will look good.
Sigmar on a sling, the stuff some people come up with. . . .

Lifted from my Bat Rep, but I wanted to put them in the Middenheim thread here ...

Photobucket has now re-destroyed my pictures, so the first half of my collected works thread is no longer working again. To see my website version of the campaign thread, with fully functioning pictures, please go to https://bigsmallworlds.com/

20xTeutogen Guard (my crowning glory, used as greatswords, awsome mini's)
Cannon
Volleygun
Rocket Battery

40xHandgunners
10xArchers
2xGenerals on horseback
2xGenarals on foot
2xUlrican Priests (one on horse, one on foot)

Seeing as how its been a while since anyone showed thier alligance to Middenheim, I thought i should give us a shout out.

So I started some weeks ago and am building my force 1 model/box per week and slowly moving towards the 2000 point mark. This is the mark I have decided I shall stop at and then build another Force, none Empire force that is.

So if your not all asleep I shall now amaze each and everyone of you by laying out my force as of today.

General on horse,
Captain on foot
Halbediers x 10
Swordsmen x 10
Flaggelants x10
Handgunners x 10
Crossbows X 10
Pistoliers x 6
Knights x 8
Great Cannon x 1
Helfire/helstorm x 1 (can change the body to suit the occasion)
Wizard x 1 (well Witch really I loved a model I saw and was a little bit bored with the ones I saw)
Engineer x 1
Priest x 1

So thats the state of play as of now.
I know I need to increase my infantry base and am looking for some models that I want to add (none GW) I have nothing against GW btw just want to start looking a little bit different, thats why i have a witch instead of a wizard and am currently looking for a second or even third witch to join her. A bit macbeth there.

I didn't intend to paint them in Middenheim colors at the time but I found out at a tournament that's where they were from :D

Painting white over a black undercoat is not fun.

Here a new Middenheim General!!! But I'm not following the Cult of Ulric, my army will be mixed with units that came to the city in the Storm of Chaos. I'll write a background for them, and then I'll try to translate it to english...

If this is the main thread for Middenheim information, I'd like to add "Swords of Ulric," a special regiment mentioned in the Empire Heraldry book, to the list of notable units. They are swordsmen who earn a spot in the prestigious unit by joining their hunting parties and surviving them. They are distinguished on the battlefield by their yellow shields depicting a red wolf head.
