The horse head is from balthasar gelt not valten.

They look cracking, much better than they did in a box in my loft.
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

I've not had a chance to read all of the way through this thread yet, I'm saving it for a reward hour on a rainy day but the standard throughout is amazing :o

This much stuff to such a quality, with loads of obscure models warms the cockles of my heart!

***searches through for entire army shots

Not much more constructive to add without sounding like I'm gushing, keep it up though :)

so, are these kislev guys invading belgium at the end of april?

all my holiday is allocated this year, 2 stag do's 2 weddings, 1 week in Cyprus, and 1 week tbd in europe, then xmas manditory factory down time,

i'll have to arrange a UK game event

lol

maybe in my garage

2 vs 2 empire against evil

That's a shame, all your stuff looks great and I'd love to fight against it!

You should try and get some time off around end of april/early may every year. The eurobash is always great fun. Beer and warhammer for 3 days... and Soth is really the finest host ever.
I don't care about the rules.

Pass the machete.

Are they riding the old wood elf bear?

I have a feeling the metal bear steeds were Kislev , but only available in the rear of the old catalogue's , not in shops etc

only steve B can confirm!

ive seen he has like 80 of them!

[dramatic announcer voiceover]  The first ever W-E Collection duel!  SteveB vs. Chumley Warner...who has the biggest collection?  Who has the rarest model?!  There can be only one Empire Collecting Champion!  Who -  will   - it   - be!

All I can say is that I go into a trance , use lots of water, and a hair dryer , and out come my painted models,

usually at the same time as I have a head set on talking to various colleagues globally, making them help me win business

Are they riding the old wood elf bear?

Yes.  There were never any specific Kislev troop bears, only the Tsar Boris model.

Having said that, the Wood Elf ones were often used for Kislev conversions

No riders originally, they were for Elven Beastmasters, Bear, Big cat, Hunting Hound and Boar

NIce, like them more than those OOP knights... (Msomething....give those a proper name for gods sake).
One of the big wigs... once told them "If a household doesn't have an income of $70,000, we don't consider them a GW target customer."

If you want to cover the gap between the horse's neck and body, use dilluted gesso, it will look smooth.

They turned out really well.  I really like the ruddiness of the skin on their faces.

The color scheme in a word, was classic!  Great job as always.

Kislev's elite riders rely on trained bears to take them into battle!

Nice work.  (Again)  :biggriin:

If I got these, I would be so tempted to paint them like polar bears...or panda bears...both would be fun.

Just received the metal Ludwig Swarzhelm model from GW via e bay.

You can't argue with how detailed and clever it is,

no way would I have gone for the Finew*nk version!

Metal every day IMO

LMAO at your calling it the "finew*nk version", although I will probably find myself using said models. I will be buying them for as cheap as I can get, no way am I paying GW hobby center prices if I can help it. The reason I will be getting them?! Weight!! Back when most of my characters were metal, as were my 20+ greatswords, pistoliers and helblaster, my gaming bag used to feel like it weighed a ton!!
