Yep, that's the one.  And I was incorrect on their title, not duelists, but instead, swashbucklers.  Think I still have the packaging, too.

Its very doubtful that I'd be willing to sell either of them.  I like the figures, and they represent NPC characters being used currently.  The one with the pistol is being used as an Estalian inquistor, and the one with the sword and dagger is being used as a privateer captain.

Thats one unique looking figure.  Carrying a mace and a book, one might think he was a warrior priest.

And he has two different shoes!  No wonder he's been painted in Stirland's colors. :icon_wink:

Is that a sword on his left side?  And what list of figures is he from?

Also known as a Gunnery Sergeant for some reason unknown to me.

I love the duelist. I remember it was used as a witch hunter when they were doing the play testing articles for mordheim in white dwarf. He has been on my wish list since then.

Ah!  Perhaps an early version of an engineer for the artillery.

Suppose that'd be an appropriate use for that figure.  Similar to my use of him as an Estalian Inquisitor.

Surprised that one wasn't painted as a Kislevite.

I've noticed that if you combine the C26 and F4 Men at Arms Citadel 1980's white dwarf listings, there are 43 more Empire style human models to be collected ...

Yeah trying to get everything Empire in the late 80's is quite problematic being how many of the historical lines over lapped with Empire of the period. Anyway if you start on this insane venture soon I know I have a few F4 Men at Arms types about currently as place holders in my old Bretonnian units as they neither look the part for 16th century Empire or 14th century Brets.

True.  They have more of a 15th century look to them.

Foundry is marketing them as "Wars of the Roses".  Wondering how well these will look standing next to Perry's more recent plastic figures.

Well doing so side research on my own seems you would most likely be best off just buying the Foundry WotR range since it is a complete copy over from the old C26/F4 range of late Medieval Men at Arms/Retainers much as you did with the Viking/Norse earlier. Also SoL doesn't cover those entire ranges as I have a few citadel stamped slotta minis that I can't find there but are in the Foundry catalog on solid bases.

You know I just checked the eBay auction you posted over in the trading area and noticed you're in Stratford. That means I might actually know you :O

Keep up the good work on the insane quest, it's nice to see such a wide range of figures and it's a shame that most models these days don't have all these little deformities and additional casts that make the citadel range such a pain in the ass for you to collect :P

Well, used to live in Evesham and I worked in the old wargames store about 9-10 years back but went to college in Stratford and know quite a few of the guys from the Stratford club if you ever frequent it. So basically if you ever shopped at the Evesham store we've probably bumped into each other ;)

Although to be honest I'm sure word would have gotten around about a project like this so maybe not :P

Hi Sir,

I don't know the stratford club?

Is that a wargames club?

To be honest I had a 20 year break from warhammer , and got back into painting 3 years ago to give me something for my brain to feed on other than work!

It spiralled randomly into gaming and this PLOG..

I literally only bought some EMpire Knights 3 years back, and had no pre conceptions about warhammer , as I had only played 40K back when i was very young.
