I just saw the recent Chinese trailer for Godzilla vs Kong... and at the end of the trailer

Spoiler:
Mecha-Godzilla shows up

Here's the link if anyone is interested. Just beware that it may be a spoiler:

There's been a bit out there with regards to the monsters they are developing with that movie.  It is a story of Kong and Godzilla, alhtough others apparently make an appearance.

Saw Coming 2 America.

An ok take, but revisits a few too many things from the original instead of doing things completely new.
Not over the top though - shows restraint to try and make a coherent story.

I saw "Earwig and the Witch." It was interesting and reminded me of the kind of novel you'd read in late Elementary school or in Middle School (it is based on a book apparently). Its about an orphan that gets adopted by a cruel witch that puts her to work in her shop. The ending felt a bit rushed after so much build up and it leaves you with questions and wanting  more. Its my 2nd Studio Ghibli movie and it was alright. I think I liked it better than "Ponyo" but I didn't feel satisfied with it. The film seemed like a pilot for a show or the first installment for a movie series. Again I liked it but wished it was 20-30 minutes longer.

I also recently saw "Gnomeo and Juliet." An animated movie adaptation of Romeo and Juliet but with lawn gnomes. Its was cute, had an ensemble cast, and packed full of Shakespearean references and Easter eggs. If you're familiar with Shakespeare you'll probably get more out of it than if you didn't. I liked that Ozzy Osbourne was a ceramic reindeer that kept nudging and goading Tybalt (Jason Statham) to beat up their rivals. And yes those 2 scenes with "the voice" IS Hulk Hogan. The movie isn't going to win any awards (but did win a sequel) but it was bit of fun. Something to watch on a Sunday while you're folding laundry.

I'm mostly sticking with my streaming service at the moment.
The tacky cinema in my town is STILL only running Mia & the Bee and Wonder Woman '84

I just watched the movie. I liked it! I think I liked King of Monsters more but this is still a great movie in the series (I have a feeling its the last movie though). I know some critics complained about the human story parts, but honestly I liked them and it, while a little goofy with the Godzilla Team (as I am dubbing them), advanced the plot and clued you into what was happening. The Kong Team was a fun exploration of this world and ties in well with the Godzilla Team's separate plot.  The kaiju battle are great, the story is decent, and it was fun. My only nitpick is there are one or two scenes of Kong that seemed like it was in slow motion when it wasn't suppose to be, but other than that everything was great.

If I was to rank the Monster Universe film I think it would be:

1. King of Monsters
2. Godzilla vs Kong
3. Kong: Skull Island
4. Godzilla

Honestly I only moved Skull Island to 3rd place because it was more fun than Godzilla, but I think the Godzilla movie was more respectful to the original film from the 50s and is still a good movie.

1. King of Monsters
2. Godzilla vs Kong
3. Kong: Skull Island
4. Godzilla

Just saw it hours ago. Very much enjoyed it, and yes, I agree with this order. I didn’t quite like painting Gojira as the badguy in parts of G v K, but I understand why they did. I very much enjoyed King of Monsters, and this kept the same kind of pace as that. I’m a big fan of the monsterverse, but I don’t know where they can take this next. I agree this felt very much like the climax of the series.

Its been out for ages down here.
Haven’t watched it though - I find Australian dramatic film is very heavy generally. But at least we have a style I guess.

Oh thats interesting. I never watched the original, but have it saved to my Amazon Prime list.
I wonder if it will be better to watch the original, or wait.

I'd suggest watching the original. Christopher Lambert is not the greatest actor. The Kurgan, played by Clancy Brown, on the other hand is amazing!

I'm a big fan of the original myself. I spent a lot of time as a kid running around with a stick-sword and screaming "There can be only one!"

I saw 'Wrath of a man' the other day. It deserves a razzie for its terrible editing.
I only saw it as the tacky cinema in my town was only running it and Spirit. AND i didnt feel like watching a kids horse movie

Thats a shame. Though not unexpected. Statham movies are pretty hit or miss... usually miss. He is very likeable though.

Uh oh, that's a bummer.  Oh well.

Reminds me, I haven't been to a movie cinema in I don't know how long.  Hopefully close to time to venturing back into one.

My complaints about Wrath of a man is that it didnt know weather it was a heist movie, super cop movie or revenge film. The 'Lost esque' flashbacks were a bit long and pointless

Well this was a surprise to see when waiting for a youtube video to load:

Snake Eyes (G.I. Joe Origins).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHg_UAfUgjA

Well, I am hyped. Looks like we see Baroness and Scarlett too. I am guessing his friend is Storm Shadow.

Now i'm embarrassed to admit I was once a moderator on a G.I.JOE site.....and yes, I still have most of the old toys, comics and cartoon series

Almost completely unfamiliar with GI Joe here.  It's a prequel?  Was there an original movie?
