Magnus  with beastman head on pike comes from ''Empire at War'' BL sourcebook, where it describe tactics used in most famous Empire Battles( Black Fire Pass, Hel fenn...).

Thanks Bartolo.

Here comes another cavalry unit of the Ostermark elector count.

Now I'm working on the elector count himself and his battle standard bearer. Then, I will paint Magnus.

P.S. I didn't record the video about Kislev yet. I'm waiting to finish the moat.

They look a lot less evil when in purple!
Great work!

I painted some white wolves purple once. My mate called them 'knights of the purple handbag'. Has stuck every time i take white wolves now. I think it was also because they had rubber hammers and bounced their charge, and then fled off the board.

This is a nice way to motivate my troops, Warlord Morkar :icon_lol:
The reason I painted it purple was because my army comes from Ostermark. For me, the global aspect of the army must have the same colour scheme, so I used the same colours as the rest of infantry troops. Yes, the knightly orders have their own colour scheme. But they are not; they belongs to the Elector Count. Every Elector count have to have their own mounted troops!. So, here they are.

And yes, I spent many hours with a knife and green stuff to eliminate their chaotic style!

Purple Knights - should be a terrible idea, but these are amazing!  :eusa_clap: I also like the idea that not all Knights belong to one of the famous orders, no reason at all why there shouldn't be Knights of the Ostermark or whatever. I am now tempted to add something similar to my own army, possibly using White Knight's minis.

not weighing in on the manliness purple. just noting that only a manly man can rock a pink shirt...
Still, I think a second color (or even metal) on some of the armor parts would have been good to break up the purple-ness.

And, I applaud the hours spent on getting spiky evil bits off. Time well spent  :eusa_clap:

But, the really killer for me are the shields. Hot damn! are these decals and then overpainted? or are you a freehand god?

The knights look fantastic even though in purple...however the one in the second rank still has a chaos star for an eye piece :p

Well, pink is not purple... but maybe some chipped metal areas could be a good idea.

The shields are freehand painted. Thank you for comments but it could be clearly better..! Here you can see  how it was:

Hush King! Nobody noticed it!!

Yes, there is THAT mistake...This one was specially difficult to hide. I tried to cover it with gren stuff, and in some cases it worked (there are 3 pair of eyes like this), but in others, green stuff simply fall out. Like in this case.

I like this one more. Both models finished today!

Noting you're interested on this kind of painting, there are some pictures on the blog showing the step by step: http://thegatesofkislev.blogspot.com.es/2017/01/conde-elector-de-ostermark-ostermark.html#more

well done indeed. what wash do you use on the yellow, e.g. the horse reins?

I'd love to see a picture of your characters side by side with knights on a no-longer-chaos steed and a 'regular' puny old horse.

It's stuff like this, that keeps the old Warhammer alive. Splendid!

Sorry for the delay, I've been out several days. The yellow wash is GW's Casandora Yellow, one or two layers of it depending on the zone.

Thanks you all for the positive comments  :::cheers::: It really helps!

And now, next target. This week I've painted a dragon-ogre standard bearer, a chaos dragon rider and this guy. Maybe you know him!

Fantastic conversion and very nice painting!

I do think he deserves a real big and tall scenic base though, seems he will get lost in the hordes with his fairly standard size.

despite the magnificent conversion and paint job this is still a gaming piece. And, they promised to use a game system where base size (and shape!) matters.

But, fix the grey lips. might be as simple as a touch of agrax wash?

Exactly. Official bases matters. If I'm not wrong only Kholek will have a different base... and this is because there is not an official model of him.

About his face and beard... I firstly paint the narrow space between his lips with black and rhinox hide and then some washes with grey on the beard. But I'm not completely satisfied with it. Maybe tomorroy I will add some layers. The thing is that his lower lip is not enough prominent and it's difficult  to mark it correctly.
