I love the War Altar.  Very creative concept and well-executed too!

Fantastic  :biggriin:

Though I have to admit that it is nice to see someone as talented as your good self also has trouble with the head join on the warhorse - God that seam annoys me. I've tried filing, extra paint, liquid greenstuff and you can "still see the join".

So good. Clever use of the 'stocks' arms.

That last picture needs a better background though!

Incredible Rogers. Like a great artwork (like Rembrandt's Night Watch - which is one of my favorites) it takes a lot of viewing to take it all in in one go. You just keep seeing more and more.

Amazing! I think the altar really comes into its own when it is embedded in the horde. Will you play it like that or as a separate unit?

I know what you mean. This kind of artwork is one step forward than the rest. It allows you to interact with it, searching and searching all the meanings on it.... Trully my unit is faaaar from this, but you comments are welcome too!  :icon_lol:

We are not sure... This was a possibility we really considered, but the machine is so large that makes two units of 50 flagellants ridiculous beside him. So, we'll see!

This kind of stuff should've really made its way into one of our army books. Magnificent and inspiring. I salute thee!

well, easy solution: paint more flagellants  :-P

The rules question is an interesting one. If you let that altar go by itself I think it will cause some headache. Can you imagine how much space you will need to leave between your units for it to close the door on an enemy unit? Actually how much space it will need to do anything but roll straight ahead. Now, if you let it join a unit of flagellants that may be more workable. It would be like an uber-screaming bell (take that skaven!) and you would need to come up with some awesome bonus it confers to the unit. Ideally you would do some test games...I am certainly curious to see what you come up with.

Nice idea, maybe I will do it. In fact, I have an old account there... with few pics of scenery ( http://www.coolminiornot.com/artist/Rogers+el+Fausto?browseid=536460 ), by sadly I forgot the password, the email and even the username... :icon_lol:

It probably simply will roll straight ahead... Not necessary any special movement/tactics on it.
One possibiliy is fit the war alter between the 103 flagellants we have. Like this:

But, as I said before, I'm not concerned about imperial deployment.

If I'm not wrong, it makes 2D6. Is really big, trully, but think on those who pull on them. It's not a steam war machine but a chariot pulled by simply humans.

Good job! I knew that would it would be even more fantastic with the full torch complement, now for some blackened polyfill strand smoke, as in picture.  steveb

Too much work this month, that means a poor month in terms of painting...

Here Frederik von Tarnus and Volans, two special character from the background without rules nor model. Until now!

Volans:

You have a description of each of them in the blog, if you're interested.
