I wouldn't get your hopes up too much, but this just posted on a few GW Facebook pages

Maybe they are just offering them for sale since everyone is going to third party manufacturers now.

Hope so.

I need some more 25x25 squares.

I thought it would be something minor to be a bit of a troll post, but this new vid seems to step up the hype

So they've looked at 9th Age, and seen the 6th Edition revival going on and started rubbing their hands together thinking there's money top be made here ......... ..... .... .... .... ....  :closed-eyes:

Just had the GW email and the links won't load - really professional.

So a rivival is coming!

The Old World is to Warhammer Age of Sigmar, as the Horus Heresy is to Warhammer 40,000. The bedrock of lore from which mortals rose to godhood and legends were forged. And like the Horus Heresy, seeing those mythic heroes in action has an undeniable appeal, as does re-creating the glorious armies of a previous epoch – an exciting proposition for hobbyists and gamers alike. And now, we have a dedicated team in the Warhammer Studio beginning the work of bringing all that awesome back to the tabletop.

It's certainly an interesting development! I think it has far more to do with the popularity of Total Warhammer and Vermintide then it does any of the spin off games. In the community article they even specifically name drop the video games.

Part of it does feel like a cash grab, but honestly I don't hugely care. I write my own fluff now, and all I want from GW is a continual supply of cool looking models.

I suspect this also has to do with the community feedback surveys.  I can't have been the only one who whined about the destruction of the Old World at every opportunity.  =)

It's a long way out though.

Meh to the game. I'll check it out if it sounds interesting. But 8th ed. already killed my interest (after several years of trying to force myself to like it) before AoS came along.  But my expectations are low. MehHammer.  :-D

I suspect a return to herohammer, selling large plastic kits, more than a return to blocks of troops being the focus. But who knows - all speculation at this point.

They've never stopped making good figures. Just changed style. Again, I'd be surprised if they release classic style WFB Empire figures. But if they do and they're nice, I'll buy them too.

I wonder what this says of how Sigmar is doing. I wonder how well Sigmar will do now that his news has come out.

I do hope there is a starter set, and not just some rulebook. And I hope they release/re-release some terrain!

I wonder if they will create all new molds, and sort of re-design the older races, or just say mount the Sigmar models on square bases, like the new Chaos warriors. They look just like the old ones. So this means they would probably need bigger than 25mm since the poses are more dynamic.

And I wonder rather than go right back to the end of times, they go back even further, that way they have a clean slate and peeps just don’t use their old models but are encouraged to use the new ones.

Just been buying from GW for a long time, and know they wouldn’t be doing this purely for the love of the game.

You know, I am getting a good deal here and there buying these old minis, but others I’ve paid an arm and a leg. And I am sure you guys are too. And we’re spending nearly all this money on essentially second-hand items, money GW isn’t getting. I am sure they are aware of this, and if Sigmar isn’t hitting the numbers I am sure they think this is another way to sell figures to the older fans.
