3rd Edition Kislev?
« on: March 03, 2021, 08:52:42 AM »
Playing back when 3rd edition was about I thunked I recall an old WD that had Kislev rules in it?
IIRC I was struck by the ice queen and her ridiculously overpowered sword of death, I think it was instakill due to the icy cold?
It could have been early 4th edition in WD maybe?

Anyone any ideas what I am on about?

Scrub that, it was the 4th edition Empire list, with Kislev allies.

3rd ed Warhammer Armies (1991) had Kislev infantry among Old Worlder Allies and Kislev Druzhina among Old Worlder Mercenaries.

The illustrations showed basically Vikings. Overall the Kislevites seem to have been 10-12th century Russians/Eastern Europeans instead of the 15-16th century Russians/Eastern Europeans they became with the 4th ed Empire book & models. Clearly, you were supposed to use models from the Viking/Tribesmen/Fighters ranges.

Forget the 6'x4' game, focus on the story beyond that. Because fantasy matters.

Cheers, yeah I checked my copy.
I had thought I had read it in WD, but I must have bought the 4th ed Empire army book.

The 6th ed rule has Killing Blow attached to Frostmourne (canít remember the name of the blade).

The 4th/5th I believe had a no armour save rule...?
