I read over at Warseer (this is also a bait) that Epic is what Apokalypse wants to be when it grows up...

plus i don't have to rent a u-haul and an empty airship hangar to play an apocalypse game.

...as far as i know.

Fixed for you my good sir.  :icon_mrgreen:

That must have been very humiliating for your corpse cart. I like it.

I decided to get into BFG.

The prices are skewed. A Space Marine Strike cruiser is $15 on the GW website.

A Grey Knight strike cruiser from Forge World is $9 and a bit.

I like that discount!

Some stuff is cheaper on Forge World, some not (most is actually cheaper from what I've seen, though).  I actually like their Thunderbolts a lot more than GW ones, but they cost about double.

But, I do like the look of Forge World Manticores, so I'll probably be getting some of them.

after looking at the gw website's shipping charges, i'm not sure it's really any cheaper than ordering internationally from forge world., especially since vats is included.

gw wanted to charge me $9 to ship two items that totalled $40. plus like $4.15 in tax. wha?

:icon_lol:  I like your humor.

Although, you don't need to rent the local store I play in either and they let 40k Apocalypyse players play for free.  Plenty of space, might even be able to park a plane in there, if it had a door large enough. :icon_wink:

Well, I have 4 sentinels on the way and should be arriving at some point.  Got them for around $10 on ebay.  Got sniped pretty good from a lot of stuff on there last weekend.  I'm not sure if that's good or bad, because I could've gotten the Thunderbolts out of the way potentially.  I like Forgeworld's models a lot more, but they cost double.  I don't think I can start off getting them.  I don't mind spending a little extra to finish off an army, but it seems like a bad precedent to set.

Forgeworld does have a lot of cool models though.  Their Manticores look a lot better, as do their Hydras.  Probably will be getting both from there, as well as Basilisks and maybe Chimeras (depending upon my budget).

That never gets old.  That's awesome though.  Was that the one you were bidding on Friday?

it's the one i wanted. there are a few random titans up, and two purple ones; one each of the two phantom configurations. they all ended up being around the same price, so the only real bonus is that i got the one with the power fist. and it's $20 less than new...

so that puts me at i think $98 for

-the old legion box of 24 guardian stands and 12 falcons
-a new sealed war host box (something's rattling around in it. uh oh.)
-a new sealed storm serpent (the new stuff showed up today. the storm serpent is a surprising number of pieces and i have no idea how to put it together)
- 4 war walkers
- 6 grav weapons platforms
- 3 crazy weird looking nightwings
- a grape-flavored phantom titan.

not too shabby, i suppose.

hope your monday went well. go outside while it's this nice out. it's supposed to get humid tomorrow.

I hear tell from Fictional Character that Forge World has done a number on their Epic range.  Tis a shame as I was about to place an order for some Basilisks and Chimeras (along with some other goodies).

I love the various Ork Gargants and Stompa models for Epic.  They really are fantastic.

If we hadn't all sunk hundreds into 40K for Apocolypse, we might get into Gothic.  We may still but it is certainyl expensive.

Gothic or Epic?

Gothic is hideously cheap.

<$125 for the equivalent of a 2000 point army.

Yeah, the prices on epic stuff have risen so much, that Forgeworld is looking affordable.

chimeras actually appear to be back, at the moment.

looks like the bulk of the superheavies are still there, and the manticores and hydras are still floating around.

seems like a total crapshoot when things come and go, however.
