A lot of them sound Dwarfish, but then again, they were forged by a dwarf (Alaric I think).
Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounding yourself with assholes.

Yes, but we was Alaric The Mad for a reason, so for all we know, he could have given them names like 'Narwhal Express' and 'Hairy Bicep'.

This, of course, was before the Elector Counts were uncomfortable with wielding a fearsome blade known as 'Bunny Hewer', so changed the names to something more Dwarfish while Alaric wasn't looking.

I reckon that the runefang of Stirland should have been called "Legbiter" even though it was a few 100 (1000?) years later that it was used to chop off another electorcount's leg.

I'm assuming the names sound much cooler in thier original Dwarfen.  remember they were crafted there.  Brain wounder is probly just a poor translation from Dwarfen.  Its actual name is something like.  "The Sword Crafted for the Humans to Confound and Frustrate thier foes, as long as they are not Dwarf but better yet if they are Elf or Goblin." which is pronounced.  KluhhLakk.  but the Imperial translation becomes Brain wounder.  ?  no?  well I tried.

Whaaat are you on about man?

Everyone knows that he called the Ostland blade 'Savage Watermelon', not 'KluhhLakk'.

'KluhhLakk' is what he named Ghal Maraz before Kurgan Ironbeard gave him a smack and told him to stop being silly.

I definitely think the runefangs would be better without ridiculous names. Where on earth did those come from?

Quote from: Spiney
Sylvania also did not have a runefang because it was not part of the Empire when they were forged, but rather was conquered later.

Plus it's never been an electoral province.

It hasn't? I never noticed that.

Edit: How come you are now visible when visiting the forum?

Most weapons in Fantasy setting have similarly unimaginative names, they just get nicely disguised by translating them into fictional languages, from LotR "Guthwine" = "battle friend" in rohirric, "Orcrist" and "Glamdring" are "Goblin cleaver" and "Foe hammer" respectively, or, even worse, from the Eragon series "Zar'roc" which means "Misery" and "Brisingr", which means "Fire".

Perhaps translating those names into middle german would make them more acceptable

Mentioning LotR and Eragon in the same sentence is like visiting a five-star restaurant in Paris and ordering fried chicken and coke. :icon_wink:

No, it's never been said that it had an electoral vote. Not even before the vampires took over.

And I am visible because I choose to be!

I was starting to get sad no noticed the Salad Wagon.

But the Salad Wagon is from Ulthuan....

I think there's an enchantment on all the Runfangs that instantly kills any elf that touches it. Remember who made them...

That would be handy. We could get rid of them by advertising the Runefangs as latest breaktrough in lyra technology or something.

Well done sir.  I laughed so hard that everyone in my building probably thinks some sort of mad scientist lives in my room.
Mothers Ruin is what we call Gin where I live, Is that the same everywhere?
I've never had a special name for it; always just said it tastes like pine trees and regret.
Praise Sigmar and pass the ammunition; what one can't solve, the other will.
