SO! I am new here. Trying to get into Fantasy and exploring a few armies, Empire being the foremost in that right now. What I am hoping for is a bit of advice to make myself a hard, nasty list for 'Ard Boyz this year. So, with my limited knowledge of the game, I have cobbled together a list that might be good, but I am hoping to hear how it isn't and can be improved!

You donīt need the General on Griffon, it would be better to field a mage lord level 4 and get some lore with buffs spells for your large infantry bodies....something like +1 S +1 T comes to mind.

Other than that I would suggest two cannons and two mortars....you can get rid of infantry with your greatswords and spears but in the army you field right now you have nothing against big nasties.

The main reason for the Griffon was to be a mobile Ld bubble and counter-assault unit. He can be where I need him quickly. Not to mention, the model is reasonably awesome.

I could cut one of the Rockets to bump a pair of Mortars to GCs. Does that seem suitable? Any other changes/ideas that would strengthen this list?

IF you want to go ard...as in ardboyz you need two engineers in that list to make the hellstorms even more lethal. (FAQ lets him re roll the artillery or deviation dice....two helstorms are enough four is just overkill, also two mortars are enough)
I would use the saved points for handgunner detachments on your halberdier units.

Sword of Sigi should prolly just be a great weapon, rod and d.scroll is illegal since you can't take more than one arcane item anymore even if scroll.  I think I'm in love with at least one captasus to deal with flyers/fast cav/scouts that threaten your war machines.

Personally, I don't really see the need to take mortars if your taking the rocket batteries. Though I do like the mortars a lot, I prefer the HSRB due to the higher strength and the bigger template. 2x Great Cannons and 2x HSRB should be enough in my opinion, leaving u enough points for some handgunner/Crossbow detachments for your Parent Units.

I would loose two of the rockets and one of the mortars and get yourself an engineer and bulk up your parent blocks

Yea, I am going to be rethinking this now that I saw the FAQ. Going to possibly throw an Engineer in, just to catch Misfires.

Also, leaning back towards a pair of STanks, honestly. They just draw off so much firepower! I will tinker some more. I think I might go for a solid center of 30 Greatswords, instead of 20. Not sure on that either.

Anyhow, with Inaccurate, I am not sure how jazzed I am with the Helstorm. Again, leaning back towards STanks.

What are some thoughts on going for a pair of Level 2 Battle Wizards over the singleton Level 4? I had that set-up originally and I think I might go back for it, giving me both Light and Heavens to work with.

personally I would loose a tank and use the points to bulk out your parent units.   ten more greatswords and twenty in each of the halberd units.   your infantry is going to die.   don't try and stop it just ensure there are loads of them to do the dying
