George Osborne, head of the treasury for the Conservative led govt has just given us a budget for the rich in a time of recession.
Taxes have been cut for the filthy rich and taxes have increased upon our elderly pensioners.
When David Cameron was talking about the 'Big Society' where everyone has to tighten their belts, and how we all have to 'share' in the austerity measures, clearly he wasn't including the very rich members of our society.

I think it's because the UK gov is afraid of people not investing because of the high tax rate for the super rich. By lowering it, it might help increase investment. I don't think this is simply a "We like rich people ," thing.

Seriously though arts was so mismanaged at my university I just found it a waste of my time.

Hah and I'm not even in university yet! My school's art program used to be one of the best in the province, but since the right cut down on all art education (that includes theater and music) the quality of our schooling has been graduelly getting worse. It just really pisses me off!

Oh arts in that sense. When I use it I really mean the humanities. That's what a Bachelor of Arts is here. I don't know about Sweden (it is Sweden right?) but here money is getting funnelled away from non practical education as education funding takes in an ever more corporate model.

Ah, oh... what? Arts=humanities? Sorry if I sound dumb, but what the fudge?

And, yes Sweden it is. Here they're taking money from the arts (or what would you call it?) because they think it's not serious enough or something like that. Also, there's apparently plans to privatize the university in my hometown... when I thought they couldn't muck up our schooling any more.

It's a BA (Bachelor of Arts) over here as well. Not sure quite why that is. If you major is music/theater/etc. it's a BFA (B of Fine Arts), though not all schools offer those.

The thing is I'm not in uni, I'm in last year of high school, but in a program more focused on "the fine arts" and more specifically the whole drawing/painting/sculpturing aspect. Sorry if I confused you, I'm quite confused myself. It's pretty hard since I have almost no idea how things work in other countries (I barely know how it works here!).

Be a Business student with accounting and marketing empahsis.

Get an art minor.

Profit.

Give no contributions to your Art School because it's full of tools.

Accounting is a great field to get into right now. I wouldn't major in business unless I was at a prestigious school though. Tons of people have a BA in Business right now and diploma mills are springing up like weeds.
